The Final Battle

"Dusk! Wait!" Spike shouted as he ran off after Dusk and Y/n puts her hand on Sundown's shoulder as he realized what he did and facepalmed.

Principal Celestia POV

"You can't possibly call that a fair race!" Principal Cinch stated. 

"Principal Cinch, we all saw what happened. You can't think CHS had some kind of advantage." I stated. 

"Can't I? Even without your trained attack plants, your students have wings and Y/n Sentry has different wings from the others! It's obvious that she's not from here! Maybe she should go back to whatever backwater world she crawled out of." Principal Cinch stated. 

"Well, the race certainly had some...extenuating circumstances. Perhaps we should end the Games now and declare a tie." I stated. 

"A tie? Was this your strategy all along? To force us into accepting you as equals? I think not! The Games will continue and Crystal Prep will prevail despite your antics and whatever performance-enhancing regimen your students are on!" Principal Cinch stated as she walked off. 

Y/n POV

Me, Sundown and the girls walk up to Principal Celestia. 

"I'm sorry I couldn't stop all this from happening." Sundown stated. 

"It's not your fault, Sundown." Principal Celestia stated. 

"Isn't it? I should know how to control the magic I brought here, but I don't. I let everyone down. And now Principal Cinch thinks we're cheating and that Y/n isn't from here and she's not exactly wrong, but still." Sundown said. 

"It doesn't matter what Principal Cinch thinks of the school or me, Sundown." I stated. 

"But it does, babe. The students here at CHS don't just want to win, they want to beat Crystal Prep. It isn't gonna count if the other side doesn't really think they lost. Crystal Prep is never gonna believe we won fair and square if there's magic around—and that magic is only around because of me." Sundown stated as he looks down. 

We got to the gym and two sets of banner-marked bleachers have been set up facing each other across the central courtyard: Canterlot High on the left, Crystal Prep on the right. 

"Since the score is tied—the final event will determine the winner of the Friendship Games." Cadence stated. 

"Somewhere on campus, a pennant from each school has been hidden. The first team to find their school's flag and bring it back wins." Vice-Principal Luna stated. 

"And as soon as our teams are ready, we'll begin." Dean Cadence stated. 

"But I don't feel like playing these Games anymore." Fluttershy stated. 

"Well, we have to play! This is the last event!" Rainbows stated. 

"It's a little hard to focus with all the magic-stealing and portal-opening." Rarity stated. 

"And I feel awful about what I said to Dusk." Sundown stated. 

"Especially since he obviously didn't mean to do all the stuff he did. He's actually really nice." Fluttershy stated.

"Let's just get through this last event and prove we're not a bunch of cheaters. Then you can go over and apologize." Applejack stated as Sundown smiled.
