Human Dusk Shine POV

I scramble to my feet and runs off, unable to do more than gibber in fear after I comprehended what just happened...Spike....talked?!

"Dusk! Wait!" Spike shouted as he ran after me.

Fade in to the lobby. One of the front doors bursts open as I sprint in, followed by Spike as I take a sharp right.

"Dusk! Come on! Wait for me!" Spike shouted again.

I skid to a stop, having veered into a dead end. Turning around, I started to edge away along the wall as Spike with the unexpected power of speech moves toward me

"Why did you run away like that?" Spike asked and I hyperventilated like mad.

"Um, oh, I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the glowing girl! Or the hole in space! Or my talking dog!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah. Weird, right?" Spike asked as I squat down to face him.

"Are you okay? How do you feel? What happened? Where did you go?" I asked as Spike licked my cheek to make me stop asking more questions.

"Hey, one question at a time! This is pretty new to me too." Spike stated.

"Sorry." I said.

"All I know is, I chased that pointy rabbit through the glowy thing, and then I was somewhere else. Next thing I knew, I was back in that nice girl's arms and I could talk. I don't really understand why I couldn't before. I mean, it's so easy." Spike stated.

"Dusk..." I heard Principal Cinch say before I panicked.

"Quick! Hide in here!" I quietly exclaimed as I put Spike in the locker and closed it.

"Who are you talking to?" Principal Cinch asked.

"Um...myself. It's a nervous habit. Were you looking for me?" I asked.

"Indeed I was. Quite a coincidence that the CHS students moving on to the next event are the same 'nice' students who were so interested in you, don't you think?" Principal Cinch asked.

"I'm not sure." I stated.

"Perhaps you should get to know them after all." Principal Cinch stated.

"But I thought you didn't want me to." I said.

"Let's just say I'm covering my bases. Who knows? Perhaps they will reveal to you the secret to Canterlot High's newfound success." Principal Cinch stated.

"I don't know. Spying feels kind of...wrong." I stated.

"Well, it's your decision, Dusk. It's not as if your application hangs in the balance. On second thought-yes, it does." Principal Cinch stated as she walked away.

"Man, she's awful. What are you gonna do?" Spike asked as he came out of the locker.

"I don't know, Spike. I don't know." I said as I slid down to the floor against the lockers and Spike nestled against my side.

Y/n POV

"All I did was hand Dusk a bunny. Then I ponied up." Fluttershy said.

"I just don't get it. Rarity's magic came out when she made us outfits, Pinkie's when she fixed the party, and now Fluttershy. And Y/n kept her magic hidden during the party, which makes sense, since she's used to her magic." Sundown stated.
