The beach had a nice breeze as Christy Miller walked along the shore line. She looked out into the water to see her husband Todd Spencer catching a wave. She enjoyed mornings like these and looked back at the houses a mile away. Her gaze settled on the light blue two story house. Her and Todd had settled on the house yesterday and it was officially theirs. Her happiness bubble up inside like a kid on Christmas morning. She finally owned a house and there was nothing she loved more than being able to say that her and her husband owed their own house.
Christy looked out at the water in time to see Todd coming to shore waving at her to join him in the water. She had her swim suit and a big t shirt on but being in the cold water this early in the morning didn't really appeal to her at the moment. She looked at Todd and shook her head. "No way!"
"You're coming in weather you like it or not!" Todd yelled at Christy from the water and before she new what was happening he was almost to the shore line running after her. Christy realized what he was doing and took off down the beach. She realized that it was no use because Todd was 10 times faster than she was. She kept running anyway but soon felt Todd's strong hands around her and before she knew it she was being carried out into the water. She tried to fight him but it was no use. He carried her out and threw her into the water before diving under a small wave. She came up laughing and splashing water at Todd who just laughed.
"Todd Spencer! I cannot believe you just did that!"
"Well Christy Spencer, have I ever told you how cute you look when you try to be mad at me?" Christy gave up trying and began to laugh as she walked out up to the shore. Todd was close behind and as soon as they got to shore Todd grabbed his surfboard and took Christy by the hand. He led her over to a rock and they sat there looking at the ocean. Christy sat up against Todd's chest and he had his arms around her.
"The sunrise is so beautiful."
"Yes it is but so are you." Christy began to blush as Todd's sweet words melted her. She turned around to face him.
"I'm so happy were here. This place is so beautiful and being close to Doug and Tracy is a true blessing."
"Yeah, I agree. They're coming over today to help move everything." Their new house was just two down from their friends Doug and Tracy who had a one year old named Daniel. They had been friends of Christy since she was fourteen. They had been friends with Todd longer but had accepted her as a forever friend that first summer she met them. Todd rose from the rock and held out his hand for Christy to take. She took it and was pulled up straight into his arms. He stared at her the way that had made her melt ever since she was fifteen. He tiled her chin up as Christy began to blush, the way she always did when he looked at her that way. He tilted her chin up and kissed her. He kissed her and suddenly the whole world stopped spinning. Christy wanted to stop time right here and now and be in this moment forever. All too soon they pulled away and Todd grabbed her hand in his and grabbed his surfboard with the other. They walked up the beach hand in hand as Todd rubbed her gold ID bracelet he had given her when she was fifteen. The walked up to their house in silence and Christy studied Todd as they walked, he looked at her and smiled. She couldn't help but smile back, she was so blessed to have him.
They walked into the house and Christy went to the kitchen to fix breakfast while Todd went to change. She finished setting the sandwich stuff out on the counter just as she heard a knock on the door.
"Hey guys! I'm so glad you could make it."
"No problem! We wanted to help you guys move in." Tracy beamed with excitement as she walked through the door with Daniel in her arms. Doug was right behind them with the diaper bag.
"Y'all can come into the kitchen. I set out some paper plates and sandwich stuff so help yourselves." Christy moved the stacks of boxes around so they could get through. She walked straight over to where Daniel was when Tracy set him down to get his food.
"Well what are you doing little mr." Daniel just laughed as Christy started tickling him and picked him up.
"Where's Todd? To busy surfing to come see his best friend? Or better yet let his wife do all the unpacking?" Doug laughed at himself.
"I think he's changing hold on a second." She walked out of the kitchen and across the house to their bedroom on the other side of the house just below the stairs. She opened the door and saw Todd putting on a new shirt. His hair was still wet from his shower and he shook it on Christy and Daniel. "Hey! Stop I have a baby!" Christy squealed as she shielded Daniel from the shower of drops from Todd's hair. He walked over and scooped Daniel up from her arms and just as Todd threw him up he squealed in delight. They both laughed and walked out of the room after Todd gave Daniel back to Christy.
They walked down the hallway into the living room that had a doorway into the kitchen. As they walked into the kitchen Todd held his hands infront of his face and said, "There better not e any making out in my kitchen." Doug started to defend himself as Tracy and Christy both laughed.
"Hey I bet you two have and there better not have been any kissing infront of my son a few minutes ago." With that all four of them laughed and began eating.
