(YN pov)
Great. Another college project. I wish I had gotten the heads up that college wasn't just partying and getting drunk all the time. Doesn't help that Mami had been absent for several days. Mami and I became friends while I intended college, though her ego is too large to admit that. She started being a bit more absent after she got a boyfriend and we only texted each other occasionally. Speaking of, I haven't seen him around either. Something must've happened. I walk over to her apartment, which conveniently isn't far from the college. I knock on the door to her apartment, but no one answers. I head inside and immediately a vase flies out of nowhere and narrowly misses my head. I see that Mami was the person who threw it. Her hair is a tangled mess and the entire apartment living room is a mess. "Oh, my gosh (YN). I'm sorry. I thought you were...him." Mami rolls her eyes when mentioning said 'him.'
"What happened?" I ask. Mami pouts and crosses her arms. "I don't want to talk about it." She says. "It had to have been serious if you haven't been at college for several days." I say. "I still won't tell you." She says, while turning away from me. "Come on spill the tea sis." I say while smirking. She still doesn't say anything. Mami can be so childish sometimes. "Can I at least fix up your hair? You look like you've just woken up from a coma." I say, while grabbing a brush from her room. She reluctantly sat down on the floor so I can brush her hair. She shudders every time I move the brush through her tangled blonde hair. I always loved her hair. It was always silky and the pink tips at the end were always her most striking feature.
"So, are you going to tell me what happened now?" I ask while continuing to brush her hair. She sighed in frustration. "Fine. Me and Kazuya...broke up recently." She says while scowling. "That's your boyfriend, right? I never remembered his name." I say. She silently nods. "So, you didn't take it well?" I ask. "No, he didn't take it well. Even though I said things were over, he wouldn't stop stalking me with his pervert friends. Then when I finally put my foot down and told him I'd never take him back and that he'll never get a girlfriend if he acts pathetic all the time, he actually got turned on by me shouting at him. I thought he was finally done, but then he started stalking all of my social media accounts. I was up all night trying to block him and I might've gotten a bit mad and destroyed my living room." Mami says.
"A bit? You nearly killed me." I say. Mami looks down with a guilty expression. "Even when we were dating, the relationship sucked. We had 1 mediocre kiss, and he made it pretty obvious he was more interested in being laid than actually being supportive." She says. "Would you expect any less from a college nerd?" I asked. She giggled in response. I finally finished brushing Mami's hair. "There. Looking good again." I say, while running a hand through her hair. She blushed softly and looked away. I then got a call on my phone and it's a number I don't recognize. Mami checked it and groaned. "It's Kazuya. He's really desperate enough to start annoying you." She says while holding her forehead in a annoyed manner. I answer and am immediately met with sobbing. "Hello?" I ask. He sobs more and I can barely make out what he's saying. "Do you know where...Mami is?" He asks. "Uh, yeah. I'm with her right now." I say. Mami then handed me a piece of paper.
"She wanted me to tell you to jump into a volcano with dynamite and that she only stayed with you out of pity for your miserable existence. If that makes you mad, those are her words, not mine." I say. He sobs louder, so I just hang up. Mami stares at the floor and mutters something to herself. I walk over and hug her from behind. "You know what? Forget about him. We still have each other, right?" I say reassuringly. She gives a small smile and leans into my hug. "Let's just go out and have fun like old times. Since you got together with Kazuya, we haven't seen other much. I missed you. I just didn't go on a depressive trip over it, unlike Kazuya." I say. Mami then flicked my nose. "Consider me shocked." She says while giggling. I jokingly puffed my cheeks in response. "We should totally go to the beach. It'll be hype." Mami says.
