Cities may feel alive but that's only because man has filled them to the brim with its people and creations. There's this thing about small towns, the veil is thinned from the lack of people and the air is somehow electrically sweet.
Marina Byrne moved from the big city when she got word that her daughter was becoming more and more unstable, often leaving Marina's granddaughter neglected. Hawkins, Indiana reminded her of one of those places her superstitious mother wove stories about. A place where things aren't quite right.
