I barged into the interrogation room. Adrenaline soared through my body at the speed of light. I picked him us from the chair and made him get on his knees before cuffing him. 'Ethan Harrington, you're under arrest for battery and assault. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you can not afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I've just read to you ?' I asked. My voice was angry. 'Yes.' He said. I took him out of the interrogation room and to the elevator. I was personally going to escort this guy to holding. I couldn't help but feel bad about the entire situation. The elevator ride was silent. When we reached holding, the guards took him. My focus shifted to the job again. I needed to see if we could get more information. We had about twenty two people. All the suspects should've been interrogated by now. I decided that it was time to go back to protection duties.

***Three hours later***

I had come home. Manila was filling in while I tried to get some shut eye. I directly entered my room and fell on the bed. That's when arms wrapped me and lips kissed my cheek. I knew exactly who it was. 'Sydney, you're back !' I said. 'No chance in hell I'm missing your birthday hermano.' She said. 'How was the girls trip ?' 'Great. I was missing you though.' She said. She was eighteen, five years younger than me. She was my biological sister. I got up. 'Want coffee Jake ?' Leah asked. 'Yes. Please.' I said. I was too tired. She then gave me a box. I opened it to see a small album. It was polaroid size. I opened it to see photos of times that were much less stressful. A photo of me, and Sydney at a burger place near our house. I turned it to see a small letter and below it, the date and day on which it was taken. The next photo was Leah and me as teens when she had been with us for one year. We had taken a small trip to Oceanside. It was a five hour drive. The background was a beach and my Dodge Charger. 'I love it Sydney.' I said. She hugged me. 'I love you Jake.' 'I love you too sis.' I replied. 'By the way, I hear that you're dating a girl.' She said. Her eyes were deadlocked on my face. She reminded me of innocence after all the sins I saw on a daily basis. 'Yeah. I really like her a lot.' I said. 'I'm happy that I finally have the chance to tease you about your first kiss.' She said and giggled. It reminded me of the simpler times before becoming a detective. It was worth it to spend time with them. 'Did you kiss yet ?' She asked. 'I'm your older brother.' I replied. 'That's a yes.' She said. I nodded to say yes. She squealed and hugged me. 'When can I meet her ?' She asked. 'You might know her.' I replied. 'Who is it ?' She asked. I could feel her brain going over the names of every girl she knew. 'It's Hayley Stewart.' I said. 'Get out. Joker.' She said. 'He's actually dating her.' Leah replied while handing me a cup of coffee. 'That reminds me, I'm bringing her tonight. The threat against her is resolved according to the US Marshals.' I said. They both looked surprised. 'All good ?' I asked after a sip of the coffee. 'Yep.' Leah said.
