"Ugh." She collapsed to the ground as soon as she felt the ominous power emanating from the outside. Her head ached sharply as she looked outside and saw a massive, evil, and eerie door in the heart of the Imperial Palace.
"It is starting," Raon announced. He is working out some formulas for the ritual they are going to use.
"What is starting?" she inquired. "Is this related to Yhannie's goal?" she asked.
Raon smiled at her and said, "Yes, it is. But Human did not want to bother Athy and kept it a secret until now. But I do not think it matters now."
Lucas, who suspected their true identity, remained silent.
"If you or the Emperor dies, this world will come to an end. It would be nice if it remained as the story in his records, but with the Fragment of the Sealed God here, this world is bound to end." Raon explained, "The reason he was born in such proximity to the Variables was to obtain information and possibly mend what is broken."
Athanasia knew that Ayhan was never meant to be born as her twin. The story she once read only had two princesses. But she still embraced that existence and thought that this world would change.
"But I must thank Athy for everything and this dirtbag as well."
Raon smiled and looked at her.
"It's the first time that my emotionless human, who keeps everyone at a safe distance, could invoke such emotions we've never seen from his face.
The Cale Henituse he knew was a ruthless man to his enemies and a kind and gentle person towards his people, but even when they were his people, they instinctively followed him without questioning his every word.
He became the object of their reason and unconditionally followed his every word.
But here...
The burden that the man called Cale Henituse carried for years and centuries was shared with people, and his heart, so cold and distant, began to beat with warmth once more.
Raon, the closest to Cale Henituse, no, to his Human, knew that it was not him or anyone. They've long been disqualified to heal his broken heart, his scarred soul. They made him take responsibility for all the pain they had and trusted him without knowing the burden he's carrying for them.
"I prided myself as his closest child." The prideful dragon admits defeat for once in his life, "but his heart seemed so far away even at the moment of his previous death."
The human that Raon knew didn't know what pain is, what loss is, what agony is.
Athanasia knew Ayhan as a mischievous individual who was unaware of his own emotions.
"That must be why..." Yhannie was devastated when he realized Claude threw himself to death to protect him even without his memories.
Yhannie must have been perplexed.
"Claude gave his life to protect him."
Raon paused for a moment before saying, "Oh. They should be here now."
"Who?" Athanasia inquired.
"Athy, do you believe in dragons?" Raon asked.
"Are not they mythical, powerful, and domineering creatures who once ruled the land?" she inquired.
"Hmm! But not all dragons are like that." Raon smiled and opened the window of the Black Castle. "I have placed several protection spells on the tower, please take care of the rest, Lucas-nim."
