As he mulls over and regreting the fact that he did not eat anything during dinner, he finally enters the fabled hobby 'job' of the people of today, 7-eleven. The automatic doors accomapnied by the generic store bell like sound, it awaken the sleeping employee behind the cash register. He wore the standard 7-eleven employee atire with a company branded cap and black pangs, stretching his arms and scratching his side, he seemed to expect another customer and looked at Jacob with a trained smile but morphed it into a face that expresses a look of pleasant surprise.

He looked at Jacob and asked him, "New guy right?" ??? said as he stood up from his chair and walked towards Jacob. "Uh...yeah I am, and you are?" deciding to not be the awkward recruit that he is, he met his fellow employees hand for a handshake near the cashier.

"The name's Trek, I work for the afternoon shift."

"Jacob, the new night shift employee." Jacob said before being handed a hat with the 7-eleven brand.

"Why give me this?" Jacob inquired as he held the hat. It felt like it was made with leather even though the look of it says otherwise. In a good way.

"Dress codes nowadays are looser than previous years thanks to the bill." Trek said before entering the employee only room. Jacob didn't know what to do at this, sure he did worked part-time from time to time when he was on Earth, but he wasn't. Doing the next best thing according to his brain is to look at the chips section.

"but the hat always indicates who is the employee and who is not" he faintly heard the words of Trek as sounds of zippers opening and closing was heard. "Isn't that exploitable?" Jacob asked with concern, loud enough to be heard as he looked at a peculiar brand of chips that looked like an off brand of Piattos.

"Yes," Trek said as he finally went out of the room with a casual attire, same black pants but now wore a plain white polo shirt. "which is why I still wear the company given dress code to avoid any and all potential misunderstandings I guess."

"Where are you by the way?"

"By the chip section." Jacob said as he poked his head from the side. "Always wondered why prices are high nowadays." Jacob questioned to both himself and Trek as he grabbed a small chip bag called Utz with a price tag of $59.99."

"Heh, it used to be worse before discovering that planet a few decades back." Trek said before walking towards the chip section and joined in with Jacob briefly. "Had soil that exponentially boosts crop growth and yield. Heck, thanks to that, everything is like 16% cheaper now."

"Really?"

"Yep, it was so good, that the heads of All Things Farming funded the research to replicate it."

"And...did it work"

"It worked...after 27 tries of course."

"Heh, Rome wasn't built in a day." Jacob said before walking aound the store and familiarizing his surroundings again.

"Neither did the Solidaritarium" Trek mentioned before heading to the sliding doors.

"Oh yeah before I forget," Jacob heard before turning towards Trek, "Two other employees are gonna arive some time later. Management said they are both recruits like you. Make sure to let them read this." Trek said before throwing a small company handbook that says 'The Do's and Dont's of Nightshift Duties' to Jacob. He briefly examined it and pocketed it.

"You can fabricate your own attire free of charge, just use the handbook to find the code for the specific clothe size." Trek said while padding himself in every pocket area he had just in case he forgot anything.
