THE AFTERNOON SUN DIPPED LOW, casting long shadows through the cracked windows of the fortress's grand hall. The group gathered around a roughly constructed table, its surface littered with maps, sketches, and crude weapon blueprints. Kael stood at the head, his expression stern, his eyes flickering with the intensity of a man who had seen too much and yet was determined to see more.

"First things first," Kael began, his voice a low rumble that commanded attention. "We've managed to weaken several FF camps. Arjun and I targeted their supply lines, sabotaged their communications, and hit their patrols hard. Their defenses are stretched thin, especially around the grand palace. If we strike now, they won't be able to call for reinforcements."

Arjun nodded, pointing to a map spread out before them. "We've identified key weaknesses in their perimeter defenses. The western gate is particularly vulnerable. With their forces spread out, we can breach it, but we need to be coordinated."

Nyssa leaned in, her eyes narrowing as she studied the map. "How many Enforcers are we talking about?"

"At the palace? Roughly a hundred, maybe less," Kael replied. "But their elite guard will be our biggest challenge. They're well-trained and well-armed."

Finn, sitting beside Nyssa, glanced up with a mix of determination and concern. "We need to ensure everyone knows their role. We can't afford any mistakes."

Kael nodded in agreement. "We'll train rigorously, focus on our weaknesses. We can't leave anything to chance."

The group dispersed to their training grounds, a makeshift arena they had set up in the fortress's courtyard. The air was filled with the sounds of clashing metal, grunts of effort, and the steady rhythm of boots against the hard ground. They trained relentlessly, pushing each other to their limits, honing their skills and testing their endurance.

Nyssa faced off against Thalina first, their sparring quick and intense. Thalina was agile, her movements fluid, but Nyssa's strength and determination gave her the edge. She disarmed Thalina with a swift move, knocking her to the ground.

"Good fight," Thalina panted, smiling up at Nyssa. "You're getting stronger."

Nyssa extended a hand to help her up. "Thanks. You've improved too."

Next, she sparred with Tarry, his newfound muscles evident in his stronger strikes. But Nyssa's experience and agility allowed her to outmaneuver him, pinning him to the ground in a decisive victory.

"Nice try, Tarry," she said, offering him a hand.

He grinned, accepting her help. "I'll get you next time."

Finally, it was Kael's turn. The group gathered around, their eyes fixed on the two as they squared off. Kael's eyes locked onto Nyssa's, a mix of pride and challenge flickering within them.

"Ready?" Kael asked, his voice low and steady.

Nyssa nodded, her heart pounding with a mixture of anticipation and nerves. "Ready."

They circled each other, their movements measured and deliberate. Kael struck first, a quick jab aimed at testing her defenses. Nyssa parried, their swords clashing with a metallic ring. She countered with a swift strike, but Kael deflected it effortlessly.

"You're quicker," Kael remarked, his eyes gleaming with approval.

"And you're stronger," Nyssa replied, her breath coming in steady puffs as they continued to exchange blows.

The fight intensified, their movements blurring with speed and precision. Nyssa felt every muscle in her body strain with effort, her focus narrowing to the point of their swords and the rhythm of their dance. She dodged a powerful swing from Kael, using her agility to sidestep and deliver a strike to his side.
