The large elevator doors that lead to his pent house apartment opened in front of my eyes. I was greeted by my sweet dog -Bonny- coming to stand at my feet. I kneeled down to the floor to pet her head. Johnathan walked past us, not acknowledging the dog. He didn't look back at me either but kept walking to where what looked like his office.

"Johnathan!" I called off to him as he disappeared behind a wall.

"One moment baby!" He called back. I heard the sound of a door being opened, then closed firmly. I turned my attention back to Bonny who had her tongue out while staring into my eyes. As a child I learned if a dog looked into your eyes it meant they loved you and saw you as their family. I smiled looking back into her black eyes, my hands stroking down the fur of her back and neck.

"You're so cute!" I squealed and smiled putting her face in my hands, squeezing her like she was a baby.

Her response was the bark, not meanly but bark. I thought maybe she was responding to me but I noticed her looking behind me. I wiped my head around seeing Johnathans legs in front of my face. I lightly jumped and looked up at his face. "Geez I didn't even hear you" I chuckled. Bonny kept barking at him, standing to her feet.

"Hey! Knock it off!" He pointed in her face. She came to his feet and sat. I noticed her also look up and at him the same way she did with me.

"She loves you." I said standing to be more at his level.

"No." He responded still looking down at her.

"She does, look" I stepped to Johnathan and shoved him back roughly. Bonny stood back to her feet and barked at me. Not the same way she did last night to Johnathan but still barked protectively. "See" I smiled looking up at him. "Okay Bonny, daddy's okay" I brought my hand down to pet her head. She sat back down and looked up at me.

"That sweater does look cute on you." Johnathan said to me with his hands in his pockets. My eyes turned up to see his light smirk.

I stood up fully from leaning towards Bonny. "Really..? I thought you didn't like it on me?"

He shook his head while tilting it down. Then his gaze coming back up to meet mine. "There's nothing I don't like on you sweetheart."

I blushed under his praise and reached my hands to hold his arms while I stepped another step closer. My head lifted further now being closer while he looked down upon me. "So about this mission... are you really gonna infect the whole city? Is that possible?" I asked softly.

"If it means you will be away from harm then yes, it will be possible."

"You're doing all of that for me?.." My face turned to a frown.

"Why else would I be?" He smirked humourlessly. "With everyone's brain dead, you and I can live without all this entanglement with the police. Or anybody."

"Would you still have done it if we weren't together?"

"Who knows. That reality isn't real." He shrugged.

"Right." I nodded my head slowly. "Wait so what did you do with that police officer? The one that made me leave."

"Well... I would imagine he's probably seizing on the floor of my office as we speak."

"You gassed him?" My voice grew in slight concern as he practically killed yet another person of authority. The more him and I killed, the more investigated we got. Which wasn't good.

"Yes, he was going to arrest me. What do you expect I do?"

"I don't know..."

Johnathan spoke up again quickly before I could really say anything else. "Besides, I'm too substanial for prison."
