AFTER THE WEDDING reception, Aren and I were seen off by our guests as we went straight to our honeymoon destination. A destination that I had made sure to choose in my attempt to seize some sort of control during the wedding planning.

We had made our way to the airport in the evening with our small suitcases and in under an hour, we had made it to a resort in Santorini. Victoria, the Petroses' publicist had been present at the wedding, which I had noticed once Aren and I went to greet every guest and told us that we would have press attention outside of the Petros villa seeing as our wedding was a private affair.

Aren had done a good job of getting us through the crowd of reporters and we knew that we would be the next day's headlines seeing as we were both sporting unmissable wedding rings.

"This place is beautiful..." I marvelled, looking around the hotel room in awe.

Aren walked straight to the mini fridge that was fully stocked and took out a bottle of water. He tossed one to me and opened the cap before taking a swig. "It is one of the better hotel rooms I've been in."

He took off his suit jacket and loosened the tie around his neck. He decided to stay in his suit after the first dances but I had changed into a white cocktail dress before the food came out. I slipped off my heels as I looked out the French doors that led to a patio and then out to our very own private section of the beach.

The sun had yet to set and the sky was a canvas of soft pinks and yellows that surrounded a dwindling golden sun. I felt like I could stare at the sunset for eternity and the sense of serenity that covered me was astonishing considering how heavy the day had weighed upon my shoulders.

Aren walked past me to the bedroom and I looked over my shoulder before following behind him. As I expected, there was one king-sized bed in the middle of the room but what made my smile drop were the rose petals strewn across the bed and the floor.

Well, it is the honeymoon suite.

"We are not sleeping in that bed together." I firmly said, looking at all the complimentary things left by the resort staff.

Aren turned to face me with a blank expression as he inspected the whole room. "There's only one bed. What do you propose we do?"

I shook my head. "I don't know but remember that was our deal. I don't slip the detail you put with me and—"

"We don't sleep in the same bed. I know." He interrupted and finished my sentence as he sat down on the bed. "That's easy to fulfil in our house but there's not much we can do right now." He moved the pillows around and dragged his fingers across the top of the headboard and behind it.

"What are you doing?" I questioned.

He glanced at me. "I'm sweeping the room." He took a radio-looking device out of his pocket and started walking around the room. "You'd be surprised how many rooms are bugged. What they hope to find is a mystery."
