A few days passed, and Fire decided to visit wind once again, shifting into a boulder this time to see his reaction.
He slid through the forest as the boulder, even rolling occasionally, until he found a good place to settle.
Wind walked through the forest, approaching the boulder curiously. This wasn't here before.. Oh well, a new place to settle!
He sat down on the boulder, going to take his lunch out of his quiver when-
“Ow- You're so heavy!”
Immediately Wind stood up, jumping back and watching the boulder shift into Fire.
“Oh great tree.. not you again.” He grumbled, glaring at the smirking spirit.
“Heeeelloo Windy..~ did you miss meee? I'm sure you did..” Cackled the spirit, floating around him leaning against him.
“No, I didn't miss you. Tsk.. to think I had a spot to sit down.” He huffed, walking off to a different boulder and sitting down on it.
Fire flew over, sitting on the ground across from him, not speaking a word as he watched Wind take out a sandwich from his quiver.
Only then did he speak. “What's that?” he asked, tilting his head
“A sandwich.” He blatantly replied
“Wuddya do with those??”
“You eat them. They're food.”
“Woaah.. I've never eaten anything before! Unless you count the injections the lab gave me as nutrients...”
“You.. never ate anything?” Wind was taken back, a little surprised
“Nope! Though Doctor Moss would often give me strange good-smelling things whenever she was on break with me... She would tell me to put it in my mouth and chew! A few times I'd choke on them though.”
“Huh...” He looked at his sandwich, thinking and hesitating, before tearing off a small piece of his sandwich, holding it out for him.
Fire looked at it with confusion, then took it into his hands, bringing it to his nose to sniff it, then nibbling on the sandwich. “Ooouuhh... it's really yummy..” He mumbled as he continued to eat it, almost immediately finishing the food given to him.
“Thank you!!” He chimed, smiling a little. Wind mumbled a quiet ‘you're welcome’ under his breath, continuing to eat.
Fire looked around at things, wondering if anything else was food. He looked down at a worm in the dirt, picking it up and sniffing it, tossing it in the air and catching it in his mouth, about to chew before coughing and spitting it out. “Ewww..! That was weird and slimy... I don't like those!” He hissed, sliding closer to wind as he glared at the worm, which squirmed away.
Wind couldn't help but let out a quiet laugh, covering his mouth with his scarf and letting out a quiet scoff, trying to cover up the laugh and the following smile.
“Euuh...” he scraped off his tongue with his hands, spitting out any dirt that went into his mouth.
“Those things aren't food, Fire... If you want more food, I can just get you some..” He murmured, standing up.
“Really? Where?!” Fire asked as his eyes lit up, floating around him.
“Back at the cottage my father gifted me..” Responded Wind.
“Father..?? What's a father? Is it like a mama? My mama was Doctor Moss!”
Wind flinched, unsure how to explain it. “It's... sort of like that, yeah..” He responded once more, walking to his cottage.
Fire followed, curious of where they were heading, humming as they approached a cottage...
