Naina

The house help closed the door as I looked at kabir's face. What did he even mean by the words he just said. It was decided during Kiara's birth that she would, in no way lead the family buisness.

She is just five months old for god sake, and my husband wants to make her tough. A five months old baby!

I took a step forward to argue and just before I could say something he looked at me before dashing out of the room. I blinked a few times as I heard the door being closed.

Maybe I could talk to him after he cools down a bit, maybe after dinner.

Looking back I saw Kiara still laying on the bed. My heart snapped out of my chest for a second as I saw her rolling on the bed towards the edge. Immediately running towards the bed, I held her before she could fall down.

"Kiara...oh god!"

This little troublemaker just caused me to have a heartattack.

Her eyes flattered as she looked at me and the let out a loud giggle. She thinks it's funny!!! Looking at her small and  innocent face an unconscious smile appeared on my face, god she is the most beautiful baby I've ever seen in my life.

"You almost gave mumma a heartattack baby." She slapped her small hands onto my face and immediately attached her mouth to my cheek.

The room got filled with both our soft laughs and she let out a loud squeal when I lightly tickled her in her tummy.

" Come on now, let's leave you with Bella till mumma is busy."

Still carrying her in my arms I walked out of the room and into her nursery. Her nanny, forty seven years old Bella nodded as I entered inside.

"Good evening Ma'am." She bowed a little and then looked at Kiara with a smile.

"Good evening Bella, I'll be downstairs for dinner, send for me if urgent."

"Yes ma'am."

She gave me one of her beautiful smiles as I handed over the baby to her. She is the only person I trust with Kiara after myself and Kabir, well nevermind. I guess not anymore. If he thought, he could just walk around my daughter with blood on his clothes he was wrong, very wrong. I would not let him scare her and then walk away with baseless arguments.

Walking out I took a deep breath before I walked downstairs. I just hate this part of the day. Having food with those vile women around and no one to talk to. It's not easy to survive in a house where everyone hates you. Well everyone, except for kisha, the only sane person in this house.

She's always been empathetic towards me, considering her fate will be same as mine, and as all the women in families like ours. Women can't have feelings, wishes and dreams of their own. They shall only dream of getting married and bearing children for their husbands. Pleasing them when they need it and providing them with silence whenever demanded. Being ignorant if the husband is found to have a mistress. As for my case, it's different. My husband believes in fidelity. And these are not my words. This is what he told me on the night of our wedding.

"I have taken you as my lawfully wedded wife and I shall remain faithfully to you till my last breath Naina. I am no manwhore, you have my assurance. You will be the only woman in my life till death do us part."
