Lovely

I gazed up at the large, relatively well-kept building, heart pounding.

"Special Operations squad, is it?" I was excited.

Ecstatic. Exuberant. I'd been chosen. The squad's leader, Levi, had seen something in me. Some flicker of promise, some hint of ability.

It gave me hope to think that humanity's finest believed even I could be strong.

"Wow. Not exactly what I expected." Eren said from beside me. I snorted.

"What did you expect then, an underground cavern?"

"You're not far off. Maybe something a bit more menacing. Like an underground cavern crossed with a torture chamber." I laughed.

"The captain really left an impression on you, didn't he?"

"Really? Was it the excessive bruising and bandages which gave it away?" Eren replied snarkily.

"When you put it like that, it makes you sound like you have some sort of crush on him. Really Eren, I didn't know you were into that sort of thing!" Eren's face flushed, and I laughed.

"You two seem to get along well." I turned, surprised to see a girl with a kind face and bright eyes standing before us.

How long had she been there?

"Then again, I imagine all the new members from the 104th have been through a lot together." I immediately stood at attention, bringing my hand to my heart.

"_______ ______. I was told by commander Erwin to join Eren in the Special Operations squad." I stated. Eren chuckled.

"Geez ______, lower your voice a bit, I'm standing right beside you, you know." The woman giggled.

"It's alright, we really aren't that strict with formalities here. After all, we all are willing to make the same sacrifice." Her face darkened for a second, before returning to its bright and cheerful façade. "My name is Petra Ral. The others are inside in a meeting with the Corporal. I'll give you a quick tour before showing you to your rooms. After that, you're on your own." Petra met my gaze, beaming. "And relax. The real fun will start when you meet the Lance Corporal."

Levi sighed as he left the office after explaining his decision to add a new member to the Special Op's squadron to the others. In the end he'd gone with the truth. It was the look in her eyes. The other's accepted his decision without pause.

Walking through the empty hall, he noticed some movement outside that caught his eye. Pausing, he faced the window, gazing out at the scene before him. It was her, ________. Alone, she sat the grass, head upturned, eyes closed, (h/c) hair billowing in the wind. She looked so soft, her beauty unfolding in that serene look, in the way the tilted her head, exposing the gentle curve of her neck. He swallowed, unable to look away.

Lovely...

He'd never used that to describe anything before. And yet there he was, entranced by the distant figure- mesmerized.

The girl raised her head, turning to look back towards the house. Some of her (h/c) locks streamed across her face as she did so, but she didn't bother to push them away.

Their eyes locked.

Levi quickly turned and continued to walk down the hall.
