More weeks have passed in the same routine, but thanks to Todoroki's job it makes the days a little unpredictable. Some days [Y/N] having woken up on her own with Todoroki not beside her, that day freaked her out a little, had he left her? Run off without her? Gotten injured? Killed? She didn't know what had happened to the man, so she had rushed down the stairs and saw Dabi sat on the sofa.
Dabi, being the oh-so-kind person he is, noticed her distress and thought it was a little funny. "What's got you in a funk? No princess breakfast-in-bed treatment today?" He mocked the woman who simply gave him a frown. Dabi's blue eyes were trained in on her frantic looking around, probably for Todoroki. "He got called in for work, calm down princess." Dabi shrugged turning back to the TV.
[Y/N] calmed down immensely once that was established. Todoroki had gone to work earlier this morning, she was a little annoyed he didn't wake her and tell her or at least leave a note, but she guessed Dabi worked just fine. Without the snarky comments.
Besides that day, Todoroki had been one of the sweetest, kindest and most gentlemanly people she had ever met. He really did treat her like a princess, which was Dabi's favourite mocking nickname for the woman. She didn't really know if she was in love with him or just experiencing Stockholm syndrome, but she doubted it was Stockholm because of Dabi's presence. Obviously she couldn't have Stockholm if there was someone else in the house, definitely not Stockholm, meaning she was probably actually in love with the man. The realisation almost knocked her off her feet, but she had yet to say it to the man, even if she was a bit more receptive and kinder to him now-a-days.
Todoroki came home one day after realising it was [Y/N]'s birthday the next day, he kind of panicked about it but had calmed down before coming home. He had to talk to Dabi about it and what to get the woman for her birthday with him. When he arrived [Y/N] had made them all tea, as she usually does when he arrives home now, he couldn't lie he loved it.
Todoroki needed to get the woman out of the way so he could talk to Dabi properly. "Darling I brought you some more flowers, why don't you go plant them in the garden?" Todoroki turned to the woman as he spoke handing her a large bouquet of tulips, peonies and orchids. [Y/N] smiled at the man and nodded at the man taking the flowers from him.
[Y/N] headed out to the garden, as soon as the backdoor shut Todoroki turned to Dabi quickly, "What do you want? I haven't done anything to her so don't get on my back." Dabi frowned turning back towards TV. Dabi sipped on his tea that [Y/N] had made, she knew how to make a good cup of tea.
Todoroki rolled his eyes and sighed, "Nothing like that idiot, it's [Y/N]'s birthday tomorrow." Todoroki hissed quietly. Dabi looked over at him, he didn't know that the woman never told him within the time they had been spending together.
Dabi turned fully towards his younger brother, "So get her presents and a nice dinner or something, I'll piss off in the evening. Can I get the princess a gift, your majesty?" Dabi rolled his eyes as he thought over all of the present ideas he could give the girl.
Todoroki nodded his head at the man, "Sure, just nothing too fancy." Todoroki hummed as he too thought over all of the ideas he could give the woman. He needed to go all out for it, not just the gifts he gets her every day. She loves that garden, maybe something to do with that? Todoroki thought it over the entire night ordering things on his phone the entire night.
[Y/N] awoke the next day alone, she didn't freak out like last time assuming he had run off to work. The woman got dressed and headed downstairs, assuming Dabi would bother her the entire day, she sighed as her feet touched the floor.
"Happy Birthday my love!" Todoroki smiled once the woman looked into the living room, she totally forgot it was her birthday today. Todoroki gave the woman a hug and then hesitated for a second, he wanted to plant a kiss on her lips, but he instead decided to kiss her forehead. "Come sit down darling," Todoroki pushed her towards the sofa which she sat on opposite Dabi.
Dabi nodded at the woman, "Happy birthday princess," The man spoke softly. [Y/N] smiled. Todoroki sat next to her and presented her with a pile of presents he placed onto the table in front of her. Dabi placed a small present next to them all without [Y/N] noticing.
[Y/N] smiled even wider at the two of them, "Thanks guys. I forgot it was my birthday." She admitted, Todoroki gestured towards the pile of the presents. "Are these all for me?" She asked softly.
Todoroki smiled at the woman, god she was so cute, "Yes darling they're all for you, go on open them." The man gestured to the presents once more making the woman reach for the nearest woman. She began unwrapping it, within it was a velvet box. The woman allowed her [eye colour] eyes to wander around the box, attempting to see if there was any inclination of brand.
[Y/N] opened the box and within it was a gorgeous ring, with [birthstone] in the middle surrounded by smaller diamonds stuck onto a [golden/silver] band. She was a little put off by it, "It's not an engagement ring don't worry, it's just a promise ring. Look at the inscription," Todoroki clarified to the woman, and she did, she looked to the inside of the ring. [Y/N] peered at the engraved message on it:
My love for you will never falter or die as long as this ring is on your finger.
"Thank you, it's beautiful." [Y/N] spoke with a smile, Todoroki nodded at the woman. [Y/N] began to open the rest of the presents, each more loving than the last. She adored the ring, the chocolates, the earrings, the necklaces and the seeds for her garden. She loved them all. Then she grabbed the present from Dabi, she opened it and found a bracelet. It was a [golden/silver] bracelet with a rose design inscribed on it, "Thank you Dabi," she thanked the man earnestly. Dabi simply nodded at the woman.
The day continued on, [Y/N] was happy with everything, and Todoroki was even happier that she was happy with everything. That night Dabi left with a small wave to the happy couple. "I have one more surprise for you my love," Todoroki said as they cuddled on the sofa.
[Y/N] turned to the man with a confused look on her face, he smiled even wider and took her hands in his. Todoroki guided [Y/N] towards the backdoor, then he opened the door and [Y/N] gasped. "Oh, Shouto you didn't." [Y/N] spoke softly as she laid eyes on the present before her.
Todoroki had set up a homemade dinner date night, under the small gazebo at the end of the garden was two chairs and a small table. On the small table was a meal for the pair of them alongside with a bottle of expensive champagne. Candles lit her walk toward the meal and then littered the table itself.
After eating the meal and indulging in conversation Todoroki simply stared at the woman, "What are you looking at?" She asked softly, Todoroki smiled again. [Y/N] began to think over everything, maybe she does love the man in front of her.
"Just you my love, you're so ethereal in the candlelight." Todoroki's voice was filled with adoration and love. "I love you [Y/N]." He said, [Y/N]'s eyes widened as he said it. He actually said it for once and [Y/N] wanted to say it back, she wanted to say it back so badly.
So, she did, "I love you too Shouto."
