I wake up to another day without Mike, feeling the weight of his absence heavy on my chest. As I reach for my phone, my heart sinks as I see our wallpaper - a photo of us kissing while cuddling. Tears stream down my face as I realize it's over, that the person I loved is no longer mine.
I feel a sense of hopelessness and despair wash over me, making me want to curl up in bed and never leave. I go to my bathroom, wash my face, and stare at my reflection in the mirror. I look terrible, my eyes are puffy, my hair is greasy, and my skin looks dull. I don't have the energy or the motivation to put on any makeup, so I just put my hair in a messy bun and put on a pair of black sweatpants and an oversized gray hoodie. I slip on my Ugg slippers with white socks and pick up my phone, texting Lexi if she can come pick me up and take me to school.
I wait for a few minutes, feeling lost and alone. I scroll through my phone, looking at the photos of Mike and me together, before finally deciding to unfollow him on social media. As I put my AirPods in and listen to my playlist, I can't help but cry to the songs that remind me of him.
Finally, I get a text from Lexi saying that she's on her way. I grab my book bag and walk out of my house, locking the door behind me. As I see Lexi's car pulling up, I can't help but feel grateful for her friendship. We get in the car, and Lexi starts talking about random stuff, trying to take my mind off things. But I can't help but feel the heaviness of my heart as we drive towards school.
When we get to school, we're early, so we walk to the cafeteria. As I take a seat, I see Mike and Emma in the outside cafeteria. My heart sinks as I watch Emma cuddle into Mike, and he talks to his friends. I turn my music up, trying to block out the pain. I change my wallpaper to one of me and my sister after a cheer competition, trying to remind myself of the good times.
Lexi notices my mood and asks if I'm okay. I shake my head, feeling the tears welling up in my eyes. "I miss him so much," I say, my voice barely above a whisper.
"I know, but you'll get through this," Lexi reassures me. "You're strong, and you'll find someone who loves you the way you deserve to be loved." I nod, grateful for her words of encouragement.
School was over and it's time for cheer practice, Cheer practice is a crucial part of cheerleading that requires a lot of hard work, dedication, and practice. As a cheerleader, I know that practice is the key to success in cheerleading, and it is something that we take very seriously.
I get ready for cheer practice by changing into a sports bra, black Nike pro shorts, and my cheer shoes. Once I am all geared up, I head to the school gym where we hold our cheer practices.
Our practices usually last for two hours and are incredibly intense. We start with a warm-up session that consists of running around the entire school twice. This is an incredible way to get our hearts pumping and our blood flowing, and it also helps us to build our stamina and endurance, which is essential for cheerleading.
Once we have completed our warm-up, we start working on our routines. Our coach provides us with a set of routines that we need to master. We start with the basics, such as jumps, kicks, and turns. These are the foundation of cheerleading, and we need to master them to perform more complex routines.
After mastering the basics, we move on to more complex routines that require a lot of precision, coordination, and teamwork. We work on stunts, pyramids, and tumbling, all of which require us to be in sync with each other to perform flawlessly.
Our coach is always on hand to help us with any difficulties we may have. She gives us tips on how to improve our form, how to execute the routines correctly, and how to work as a team. She also helps us to build our confidence and self-esteem, which is essential for cheerleading.
Cheer practice is not just about learning routines and stunts, but also about building friendships and having fun. We support each other, cheer each other on, and motivate each other to do our best. We laugh, we joke, and we have a great time.
However, cheer practice is not always easy. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication. We practice even when we are tired, sore, or not feeling well. We push ourselves to the limit to become better cheerleaders, and we always strive for excellence.
Moreover, cheer practice is not just about the physical aspect of cheerleading but also the mental aspect. We need to be mentally tough to handle the pressure of performing in front of a crowd. We need to be able to focus and stay calm under pressure, which is why our coach also helps us to develop our mental toughness.
I changed quickly walking home on the way home I see Vince driving around the neighborhood, and he's vloging.
I see Mike in the car with Shawn and Chase who looked like they were on there tablets. I quickly walked home not speaking to Mike for the next 5 months.
