The Help

"Liv! Olivia!" Hugh shouts when he steps into the house.

When he gets to the stairs, he sees his wife holding a lifeless body and the floor is full of blood.

"Liv?" He calls out again.

"She's gone...Sarah's gone" Olivia tries to suppress her cry. She puts Sarah's bracelet onto Sarah's wrist again. "She saved us. Never say u don't trust the existence of spirits again" Olivia sounds a bit harsh as if she's blaming Hugh.

"I'm sorry" Hugh locks his gaze onto Sarah's lifeless body.

"We are taking her back home burying next to her parents. That's her last wish." A tear rolls down Olivia's cheek but she wipes it away with her blood covered hand.

Hugh finds it strange since he remembers Sarah told them that her parents are back in Malaysia but now it sounds like her parents passed away. But he won't ask about this, not the great timing.

The temperature of the house drops all of the sudden. The couple looks up. It's snowing outside. It's summer though. Heaven knows the death is a grave tragedy. Even the heaven cries for Sarah. The cold isn't like the freezing aggressive cold they had experienced in the house. It's more tender.

Spirits in the house, who Sarah had talked to and helped, appear surrounding Olivia and Hugh.

"Oh my" the elderly lady spirits says and she startles Hugh. "She was a great person. She helped us a lot. Now that most of us are freed because of her." She turns to Olivia. "Close her eyes, my Child"

Olivia isn't even scared of anything she sees now. She knows everything she sees isn't a dream but a reality. Interestingly, her migraine goes away when she sees spirits now. She closes Sarah's eyes.

"It's Poppy Hill to blame" the young boy spirit is crying next to Sarah. "She trapped us. She tried to trap u as well. But Sarah destroyed her soul already before she died" the tears from the young boy spirit drops on Sarah's body.

"She helped u all?" Olivia swallows the lumps in her throat and looks at every spirit around her.

Another female spirit steps forward. Her tears fall on Sarah's body as well. "She helped us to warn u"

Olivia closes her eyes and shakes away her thoughts towards the girl. "I'm taking..."

A sharp gasp comes from the body she's holding while in the middle of the sentence. Sarah's eyes flutter open.

"S...Sarah?" Olivia widens her eyes and looks down at the girl.

Sarah just looks around the place. She can't really move her body at the moment. "Am I dead?" She whispers, still weakly,

Hugh touches Sarah's wrist to search for a pulse. "Omg...she's alive"

"What are u waiting for? Take her to the hospital!" The elderly woman spirit has to hurry the couple as they are frozen in place and can't believe a miracle just happened.

Even Hugh sees the spirits this time. He doesn't question it. He just carefully picks up Sarah and runs to his car. Olivia gets on the backseat and Hugh gently places Sarah on Olivia's lap. Olivia also notices the bleeding from Sarah's head stops as well.

The snow stops...the moon comes out shining on the path they are driving on as if it's providing light for them.

After reaching at the ER, Hugh rushes to get the nurses and doctor. Within a heartbeat, help is here. The medical staff take Sarah into the ER.

It's quite intimidating that both Olivia and Hugh are covered in blood. A nurse from the nurse station approaches them.

"Are u guys ok? Are u hurt somewhere?" The nurse says.

"We are fine" Olivia says.

"Are u sure, Liv? I think it's better to get u checked up because..." Hugh says. The nurse is waiting for the rest of the sentence.

"I'm not going anywhere until I know Sarah is fine"

"Are u the girl's parents? Family?" The nurse asks.

"Friends." Hugh replies.

"Alright, perhaps u can wait at the waiting room. I'll let the doctor know you're in there."

They follow the nurse to the waiting room. It feels like forever in there. But it's actually 45 mins when the doctor comes out and goes to them.

"Sarah Lim's friends?" The doctor says.

"Yes! How is she?" Olivia stands up quickly.

"I'm gonna be truthful to u. She wouldn't have made it. It's a miracle that she's still breathing now. She has multiple rib fractures that one of the fractured bone punctured her lung. We are going to repair the vessels now. Also, she had severe internal bleeding but somehow the bleeding stops as well as the one on her head. U better call her family. I don't know how long she can still make it. We are gonna monitor her in ICU after the operation"

"She has no family left. We'll wait here"

"Well then, I'm gonna call the surgeon and perform the operation as soon as we head to the OT"
