Eunha sighed as she threw herself back towards the cushion part of her fathers chair. Her eyes grew dewy as images of Somi cheering her on when she was just a tiny girl flooded her mind. Such a bright smile was adorned the little girls face as she watched Eunha place a golden hairpin through her light brown locks. Oh, father please wake soon. She prayed as she gazed out the large window behind her. A sudden knock on the door made Eunha straighten her back and blink her solemn expression away. "Come in." She loudly spoke causing the door to be pushed open. "Oh, it's you."
The man her age merely smiled as he walked into the room. "Why so surprised dear?" He teased making Eunha avert her gaze with blush tinting her cheeks.
"Oh shush, Mingyu." Eunha snapped.
Mingyu neared the huge wooden desk and stood before her. "The funeral has ended just moments ago." He said earning a hum from the girl. "I have something important to discuss with you about the attack." This made Eunha furrow her brows in interest.
"Go on." She authoritatively urged on.
"From what I've gathered only you, the elite assassins we're both familiar with, and myself are the only ones who know about the item these attackers wanted correct." Eunha nodded at his words. "Well if memory serves me right, these particular scrolls were brought up before." Mingyu stated, instantly catching the shocked look Eunha sent his way. It didn't take long for her to register what particular event he was vaguely hinting toward.
Eunha looked down her lip raised in a scowl, would they ever be free from those horrid days. "Right, it was for that cursed revolt." She muttered causing Mingyu to hum. "Have you mentioned this to the others?" She asked with a hint of warning in her tone.
Mingyu shook his head. "Only you."
Eunha pursed her lips. "Good. Keep this between us. I will figure out how to inform the rest of the elites."
"If this was done by her what will you do?" Mingyu suddenly asked striking an odd sensation to wash over Eunha.
Eunha looked away from Mingyu and gazed out the window. "What is expected of me, and what we must for traitors." She answered with an unwavering voice.
Mingyu nodded at her statement. "I must head off, negotiating with neighboring villages is tiresome work." He playfully whined making Eunha crack a smile.
"Right." She stood up and walked toward him. "Thank you for taking my fathers duties so suddenly." Eunha gratefully told him, earning a bashful look from Mingyu as she straightened the silk material that rested on his wide shoulders.
He swiftly grabbed hold of her hands, giving them a tight gentle squeeze. "Anything for the village, and for you." He whispered causing Eunha to grow shy at the skin contact. "Be careful, we don't know who to trust anymore." He continued before planting a soft kiss onto her forehead.
