Like a river split by distant shores, my heart aches for the embrace it can no

Today marked the fifth day since their suspension, but nothing had changed for both of them. Every morning, Haseena woke up at 5 a.m and waited for Karishma at the breakfast table with the rest of the family, while Karishma stayed locked in her room for most of the day. When Karishma did venture out, it was only to meet Gazal or help Angad with his cases. Haseena was also not so free as Gazal had requested her to accompany her to the hospital instead. Gazal often observed Haseena silently, but Haseena never offered much to get noticed. She busied herself with helping Gazal's patients and finding excuses in her mind to get a chance to please Karishma, often by pretending to read books while being engaged in thoughts into Gazal's cabin . Gazal was aware of Haseena's efforts, she was tensed for both of them , when they were together everyday use to be so good and lovely but now this distance was bothering Gazal too , she wanted to talk about it to saanjh but saanjh also didn’t reveal much due to their friendship , but Gazal was not unsure of the fact that it's not just a matter between two colleagues or friends it's much more than that....
However, Despite living under the same roof, Haseena found it extremely hard to find the right moment to talk to Karishma. But today, something was changed or it would be right to say a miracle happened when At 6 a.m., Karishma joined the breakfast table. Haseena's joy was unmistakable and her smile became impossible to hide.
"Is there something special today, Karishma? You look lovely," Haseena said, complementing karishma who was looking stylish in her white crop top and dark blue bootcut jeans ,she took a seat next to her. She feared Karishma might leave, but to her relief, she stayed. Karishma, glancing at Gazal, responded, "Gazal ma, a friend opened a new salon and invited me for a trial. I'll go after breakfast."
Though slightly hurt at being ignored, Haseena was glad that atleast Karishma was there. "But you never go to salons. You don't usually like them, right?" Haseena asked, handing Karishma a bowl of oats..
Karishma looked directly into Haseena's eyes and said, "I don’t abandon my people because of my interests and principles." Haseena, knew where it was going she , slowly set down the bowl she was holding for karishma when she didn't acknowledge her serving . Gazal noticed the cruel exchange but said nothing feeling that these two are mature individuals, it would be wrong to jump into their personal matter so soon. The rest of the meal passed in silence, and afterward, Karishma left.
As soon as Karishma left, Haseena also got up from there but she looked at Gazal who was already looking at her , she slightly gathered her plates and took a tissue in haste.
"Gazal ma woh ham" haseena began to speak when she was interrupted by Gazal..
"Ab apko bhi bahar Jana hoga kisi zaruri kaam se haiina"... Gazal asked reading every now and then changing expressions on Haseena's face...
"Uhb! Ji apko kaise pata" haseena asked hesitatingly...
"Agar andhere me bhi saath rehne wala saya naraz ho jaye; toh phir ujalo me Dil kaha lagta hai, beta" Gazal adoringly expressed to haseena..
Haseena's heavy heart was somewhere at peace knowing somebody knows her pain without even knowing the reason she was holding the guilt of a criminal since the day she stepped out of karishma's life and Gazal acknowledgement towards her in a positive way warmed her up she didn't waste a second and hugged Gazal very tightly from behind as she was sitting on the chair.
