Chapter 1:
On my freshman year of college; mid-August, I, Mary Jane Fox, only wanted a peaceful life with no complications, no problems. But it seems impossible since this gorgeous perfectly tall stranger guy with oozing pheromones just asked me to marry him.
Marry him? Husband? Wife? He almost killed me a while ago, and now he’s making me marry him? I don’t even know him. He’s crazy!
With my hands turned into fists, I’m waiting for a sign of getting away from here.
“Now, now.” He says, “Let’s not get exaggerated.”
“Exaggerated?” I repeated, my breath, huffing. “You think this is a game? You think this is all a joke? Stop being impossible. I can’t marry you!”
He stares at me with a bland look on his face. “I don’t care what you think. I already decided to marry you, so you’re going to be my wife.”
Oh, boy. Stubborn is what he is.
“That’s not even a legitimate reason.”
He crosses his arms, “Then, I guess I have to kidnap you after all.”
“Look, I’m not going to marry you.”
He sighs, “Don’t be stubborn, love.”
“Excuse me? I think you are the stubborn one here.”
“Then tell me what you want.”
“Huh?”
“I’ll give you everything you like. I can buy you a house, an island, or even a whole country, just marry me.”
“You’re being a lunatic!”
“I could buy anything –everything- for you.”
“Wait. No. No. No. I have to go.” I take a step back.
One of his bodyguard signals something I couldn’t understand. He nods then says, “Come with me.” Before he could grab my arm, I swiftly moved towards his open side but he quickly countered it by grabbing me on the waist.
“Let go!” I scream, squirming around his chest. He grabbed me tightly I can’t move.
“I knew you would do that, love.” He says. “In fact, I know everything about you. I know everything, your likes, your dislikes –everything.”
I glared up at his noticeable grinning face, surprised. “What do you mean?”
“Hmmm, I’ve researched about you. You’re a really fascinating, beautiful creature, Jane.”
“Wait… wha–“
“Now, now, let’s go.” He scoops me then carries me facing backwards with my legs tied up on his arms.
“Let me go! Let go!” I forcefully attempt to break free, even though I knew it was impossible.
“Hush, love.”
He walks out through the backdoor of the cafeteria with his bodyguards. He pushes the door and climb up the stairs. I continue to scream and squirm until he pushes the rooftop door. No one even goes up here; students were forbidden to enter this area. But how did he?
To my surprise, a loud noise coming from the huge helicopter greeted me. I can see that the pilots were waiting for him –for us.
“Let’s go!” He says through the loud noise.
“Release me,” is all I can manage to say; in a low voice. I bet he didn’t even hear me.
“We’re almost there!”
