It's now Monday morning, and I'm already awake before the alarm goes off. It's my first day of college, and I couldn't be more prepared.

I have perfectly ironed my tailored pants and button-down blouse and they are ready to be put on. I plan to leave early so I can arrive at my first class at least twenty minutes before it starts. Paige's alarm goes off but she hits the snooze button, her classes start at 11 so I don't think it would be good for me to wake her up this early.

Finally it is time to get dressed. I dress up, pin my hair and put my stuff in the bag. After putting my bag on my shoulders, I take one final glance in the mirror and leave for my first class.

.....................................

"This is bullshit", I look over to the girl who had just sat down next to me in the second row of the lecture hall. She has beautiful dark hair that is Dutch braided and tanned skin that looked straight out of a makeup commercial. Dressed in a pale pink pantsuit she looked way more put together than I did.

"Why do I, an IT major has to take Econ 101? I mean seriously why do I need to know about the firms and stocks to run databases".

I let out a small laugh. She looks over at me and joins me too. "I am so sorry, but it's so frustrating isn't it".

"It is, and don't be sorry, I can feel your frustration", I say trying to make her feel better." I am Harper by the way.", I reach out my hand towards her and she swiftly grabs it," I'm Sabrina".

We spend the rest of the time before class starts talking, we are both from Cranston and she has a boyfriend named Cole, whom she met on a dating app. She doesn't mock me when I tell her I haven't dated before.

"Dating app, like tinder?", I ask.

"No its called Bloom, it matches you with people in the local area, and many students of our college are also on the app", she says as I she looks over at me, "you should try it Harper, it may help you get into the dating scene".

I laughed it off. The idea of a dating app scared the living shit out of me. Firstly, I didn't have any good photos of myself and the decent ones are all with Hailey in it.

"I mean I don't know, its not really my thing."

"You do know you have to put yourself out there someday? And besides it could be fun for you, you know meeting new people, it could really open you up to the world", she says.

"Well, maybe someday I will use it but todays not the day".

"As you wish", and with that she ends the topic. As we keep conversing about other things, the class starts to fill up and I make a point to introduce myself to the professor.

As the day continues, the classes become too much for me to handle. This day turned out to be more hectic than I anticipated it to be. I barely make it on time to my statistics class. Well thank fuck it was my last class of the day. I am relieved when I see Sabrina sitting in the front row, I take the empty seat beside to her.

"Hi again", I smile and sit down.

The professor begins the class my introducing himself as Professor. White and handing out the syllabus to the class. He then asks us to stand up and introduce ourselves to entire class. Why do professors still do this shit to this day?

Right in the middle of student introductions, the door opens and in walks........"Shit, why the hell is he here?", sabrina curses under her breath.

Biting my lip down in curiosity, I scan my eyes up the tall, dark-haired boy until they drift over the annoyed frown gracing soft facial features.

"Stop staring at him", Sabrina laughs at me.

"I wasn't", I brush her off and try to hide the embarrassment from my face.

"That's Ethan Hartman. He's the roommate of my roommate's boyfriend. He's a total jerk and an obnoxious little bitch", she whispers and locks eyes with Ethan and I worry that he heard her.

"So...", I stop talking as Sabrina's eyes look behind me. I look up and see that's Ethan has taken up the seat next to me. We stay quiet for the rest of the class.

After exactly 45 mins Professor. White dismisses the class.

As we begin to leave I ask Sabrina, "Why do you hate him so much, I mean what did he do?".

"You mean Ethan?".

"Yaa."

"Well, you won't know until you come to one the frat parties, to be honest stay away from him if you ever go to one of them, Ethan Hartman means bad news". As she begins to tell me a bit more about Ethan, I hear a voice behind me. "Miss", the voice is calm but a bit gruff.

I turn around and see Ethan walking next to us. "You dropped this", he says and hands out my notebook to me.

"Hey lamo" he says, rolling his eyes at Sabrina. He nudges her shoulder before disappearing around the corner. What a weirdo.

"So, that was Ethan Hartman," she says, keeping her eyes on me. "But honestly, Harper, stay away from him, okay? I mean it. You're a good girl, and he doesn't deserve any of your attention." Her tone is serious as she holds my hands in hers.

"Ofcourse", I try to reassure her.

"Well, fuck it, I am going to the coffeehouse, I was supposed to meet Cole after college, wanna join?", she offers.

"Sure, maybe you could tell me a bit more about Mr. Harty Hartman," I say, and we both let out a chuckle.
