My ears are assaulted by the loud rap music the moment we enter the Apocalypse house. I don't recognize the music vibrating through the booming speakers, but apparently most of the people here do as they are all swaying their hips and bopping their heads along to the beat. I follow Paige into the crowded house and we are greeted by what looked like a dozen frat boys.
I couldn't help but compare myself to the beautiful girls that pass by me in the room, making me look shyly at my outfit. I nervously pull down my skirt and flatten my crop top. This was a shit idea; I think to myself subconsciously.
"Look who it is", I turn my head towards the familiar voice to be met with Sabrina. Dressed in a tiny black tube dress that barely reached the top of her thighs, she looked like a Victoria's Secret model.
"Oh, hey Sabrina", I say as she wraps her arms around me in a hug, she was holding two red cups in her hands and she clearly looked in her element.
"I didn't know you'd be here; you should have told me; I would have given you guys a ride here."
"Oh, no, I didn't know you'd be here too.", I tell her and she looks over curiously at Paige, which makes me realize that I haven't introduced them to each other.
"Well, Sabrina this is my roommate Paige, Paige, this is my friend Sabrina."
"Ah, the roommate, Hey, I'm Sabrina", she gives Paige a small smile," Harper didn't tell me her roommate was model material."
Paige looks between the two of us and lets out a laugh, "Oh, thank you, you're really pretty too."
"Oh, don't flatter me, that's the best I'll get", she says to Paige and we all let out a chuckle.
"So do you girls want a drink?", Sabrina asks she stick out her hands towards Paige and I.
"I'm all set Sabrina but thank you.", while I reply I see Paige has already taken the cup from Sabrina hand.
"Let's go to the kitchen and find something to drink and then I can introduce you'll to some of my friends", Sabrina says leaning into Paige and me.
"Okay, cool", I reply back and follow the girls into the kitchen. There Sabrina and Paige both grab a beer bottle from a large bucket on the floor. Paige reaches down to grab another bottle, but I speak up before she can, "I don't need one, thank you", I remark.
As fast as I say it, Paige drops the second beer bottle back into the bucket, "Shit I forgot, my bad Harpy", there is something really good to have friends that don't pressure you into doing stuff you don't want to.
The girls unscrew their drinks and Paige grabs my hand, "Let's go this way", she says wandering down the hall to which Sabrina follows. The living room was filled with people, everyone dancing or laid across furniture conversing with each other. We settle into a small corner and just observe a bit, the girls sipping their drinking and talking and giggling to each other, They seem to be getting along well.
As my eyes wandered around the room, I notice a particular blonde boy walking towards us, a bright smile painted across his face.
"Paige! How are you doing?", he greets her with a hug.
"Jacob!", she wails, "How are you doing? I didn't know if I would ever find you here, it's so jam-packed"
He nods in agreeance, "Tell me about it, just glad I won't be the one to clean it up later, that's the job for the freshers, thankfully."
He finally turns to me and extends a hand, "And, you must be Harper, Paige has told me a lot about you, nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you too!", I say as I grab ahold of his outstretched hand.
