Cilan's point of view!
I'm going to do it tonight.
Well. Iris is going to be there when I cook dinner, so it's not exactly me and Ash alone under the stars, but... It's good enough. Romance. Kind of. It'll be perfect... Well, not perfe- you get the point.
We're walking to the Pokemon centre, when I ask Ash a question,
"Hey, Ash. What's your favourite thing for dinner...?" I ask, placing a hand on his shoulder. Ash seems somewhat used to me doing this by now.
"Well... My mum always used to cook spaghetti..." Ash says, squinting up at the setting sun. He probably misses his mother dearly.
"Spaghetti? I haven't tried it, but it sounds like it'd be nice!" Iris says from my side. She seems supportive of the idea for whatever reason.
"Alright! I'll buy the ingredients and get cooking!" I say. This is gonna be great.
A few minutes later after a quick trip to the market, I'm just cooking everything up after setting up the table nicely with a few candles. Iris is off training - I suggested it to her to hopefully keep her away from me and Ash. Ash is training more nearby - within sight.
So. Spaghetti and mince. I actually bought the mince this time, it was on sale at the market and cheap. That and since this is such a big city it'd be hard to turn a corpse into mince and that'd take a few hours.
Everything is ready within 20 minutes and I serve it up, lighting a few candles and hoping Iris doesn't come back.
"Ash~! Dinner is ready!" I call over. The sun's set, and everything is perfect for a few moments. Ash walks up to the table as I serve the food up, and I sit down with my own meal. Iris isn't here.
Perfect on so many levels.
"Oh, man. I'm starving! Thank you, Cilan!" Ash says. I can tell he's probably just about to stuff his face full of food in that adorable way.
"My pleasure." I reply back with a smile. Most of the time I have to force a smile, but they always come naturally around Ash.
I start eating and feel at complete ease. I put the cutlery down for a second, taking a deep breath and preparing myself.
"Ash?"
"Yes?" Ash stops eating for a few seconds.
For some reason I'm nervous now. Perfect. My hands are wringing themselves nervously.
"Well. Ash... I just wanted to say that..."
"Guys, did you start dinner without me?!"
...Iris.
Iris skids up to the dinner table with her Pokemon in tow.
"Hey, I told you to wait for me!" Iris says with a laugh. I look away for a second and roll my eyes. She ruined it. Now I have to wait, you...
I force a smile.
"Well, there's some on the stove, just grab a plate and serve yourself." I say, although it feels like my insides just froze up inside from annoyance.
Iris sits down at the table and starts eating. The conversation between us is just your average conversation between average friends. I guess I can tell Ash my feelings later, but it's just so hard to wait!
Iris and Ash are just talking. I find myself falling quiet, not bothered to make conversation. I can wait...
Once dinner is finished, Iris says that she has to go somewhere.
