The girl carefully folded her textbooks and placed them neatly into her bag. With the last calls of the day over, she was ready to get back home. As she zipped her bag,a sense of weariness washed over her. The absence of her friend Riya weighed heavily on her mind, casting over the otherwise mundane routine of college life.

The girl sighed softly, her thoughts drifting on her absent friend. Riya was her closest companion in the class, the one person who made even the most tedious lecturers bearable with her infectious energy and cheerful nature. Without her, the college seemed to lose its spark, becoming dull and monotonous for her.

As she glanced around the empty classroom, the girl couldn't help but feel a pang of loneliness. Riya's absence left a void that no one else could fill, leaving her longing for the warmth of her friend's company. With a heavy heart, she slung her bag over her shoulder.

Myra's POV

As I was lost in my own thoughts, a sudden impact on my head snapped me out of my reverie. "Ouch!" I hissed, rubbing the spot where something had fallen on me. Curiously, I bent down to pick up the crumpled paper ball that had landed at my feet.

With a mix of excitement and curiosity, I carefully unfolded the paper and my heart racing as I read the words written inside. It was a confession of love, addressed to me. My name, "Myra" stood out in bold italics at the end of the heartfelt paragraph. Joy and happiness flooded my heart, and I couldn't help but want to scream with excitement.

However, my celebration was short lived as a tap on my shoulder brought me back to reality. Expectantly, I turned around, half expecting to see the boy who had written the confession. Instead, I was met with the sight of Rahul, a classmate of mine.

My heart skipped a beat as he called my name softly. "Myra" I heard.

Could it be that he was going to confess his love to me in front of everyone? My mind raced with possibilities, my lips instinctively biting in nervousness.

"Yes?" I responded tentatively, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Can you give that paper back to me?" Rahul's request took me by surprise with a nervous voice of his.

"Huhh?" my brain couldn't proceed with his words.

He signaled towards the crumpled paper which I am holding in my hand.

"That paper is mine. I accidentally threw this paper on you" he explained which resulted in disappointment washing over me as I handed the paper back to him along with my excitement fading into the background.

"Ohh" was all I could manage to say as he took the paper and muttered a small thank you before leaving.

As I watched his retreating figure, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disillusionment.

This wasn't the first time something like this had happened since my brother, Agastya Singhania, had become well-known in the college. People seemed to treat me differently because of him, assuming that I would be just like him.

I look back at his retreating figure, feeling a pang of frustration and sadness. This is only happening because the entire college knows I'm the sister of Agastya Singhania, the powerful mafia leader of the underworld.

Just because my brother behaves like a monster doesn't mean I will too. Huh.

I still remember that day when a group of seniors tried to bully me in front of everyone. I wouldn't have cared if they had made fun of me, but no, they chose to mock my parents and hurl abusive words at them. That's something I cannot tolerate, especially since my parents are no longer in this world.
