"Why the heck would you let him, Aashvi?!" Manvi yelled, stopping in front of me again after pacing around the room, while I sat quietly on the couch.
"He..." I murmured, but the words died on my tongue. I couldn't tell her that either.
"He what?!" She scoffed, exasperation laced with concern. "You're not someone who'd agree to this fake shit for just anything. Then why, Aashvi?!"
My eyes lowered. She was right.
But I'm also someone who would do anything to find my mother.
Not that I had ever searched for her. She left us both. And I was okay with it since that day.
But the moment Yuvaansh Oberoi uttered those words in the studio, I couldn't stop myself.
Whether he really knows where she is or not is another matter. What I need to figure out first is-how does he even know that I'm looking for someone?
Even my brother has no clue about her whereabouts.
Then how the hell does Yuvaansh Oberoi?
Both brothers know something I don't.
And I need to know both-what they know about me and how they know it.
After they left the office, I couldn't stand the way people kept staring at me instead of minding their work. So, I left early.
Manvi hadn't spoken to me since she got home. Not until now, when I finally dared to ask why.
She didn't even stop to doubt whether Yuvaansh was telling the truth. She immediately started yelling at me for not calling him out, for not telling everyone he was lying.
She just doesn't want me caught up in controversies with celebrities-it would only damage me.
And once again, I had no explanation for her, while all she did was care for me.
