I'd barely been walking ten minutes into the city when my phone buzzed.
I saw the other Oberoi on the contact.

"What?" I stuck the phone to my ear.

"He's got the return flight in half an hour."

"And I don't care." I answered his brother on the line, genuinely.

"You really don't want the evidence against him?" He asked, trying to use my hate toward Adhvik or my situation like he'd always done.

I've not even figured out a single advantage from his side upon faking me as his girlfriend.

Eww.

"No." I smiled sarcastically even though he couldn't see me.

"Fine." He accepted instantly.

"He'll be back peacefully and you'll be roaming in the same city to complete that half complete interview. Right?" Smart. He pulled on the right string.

"Sure." I replied.

"The interview was postponed because of him also, right?"

"Sure." I sighed.

"You sure he won't ruin your other next plans, both personally and professionally?" I gritted my teeth on anger.

He knew what he was doing.

He was fueling me.

And the worst part was that even after knowing it,

I got fueled.

"Come on, I've made a hit plan. Don't flop it before even starting." He pressed.

"And why would you team up with me to cross your own brother?" I asked, raising a brow.

"So that's the thing stopping you from agreeing to this masterplan of mine?" He sighed.

"Answer me." I demanded firmly.

"Because I want to. There's no real explanation. I hate my brother. He too pretends to hate me but I doubt there's sometimes a one sided affection from his side. I hate one sided shits. So I don't count it. We both hate each other." My lips parted confusedly at whatever the hell he spoke.

"Don't tell me you're high."

He chuckled. "I'm not. I'm sending you the location, go and call me once you reach." He ended the call even before listening to my side.

My phone buzzed with a notification soon and it was indeed a location.

Yuvaansh Oberoi: Don't let this golden chance go.

He's manipulating me.

Yes, he is.

He isss.

"God, he is!" I repeat, thousands of times in my mind.

But no,

I had already decided somewhere between his useless rants that I was going to take this chance.

An unwanted and guaranteed wrong chance.

"The number you're trying to reach is currently out of the network coverage area. Please try later."

The heck.

I reached the place and called him only to hear this.

I looked all around me and there was nothing.

A half-dead place.

Everywhere I turned, there were remnants of buildings. Just skeletons of concrete and metal.
