Xu Haneul's pov
I waited for the bus, it was 7:30am, today I was early. Classmates that lived nearby greeted me, "Good morning Haneul, finally early." Nayeon said, I chuckled "I slept early."
"Oh? You have a basketball tournament?" Obviously she would think that, "Nope, just wanted to wake up early." I lied, it was a silly reason why I slept early, Nayeon just nodded. I recently lost my nametag so I had to go to my favorite tailor lady to make a new one, next to the school. The school was very strict about name tags, hairstyle, etc... since more than half of the school was full of rich kids and the remaining were just geniuses to be able to attend such a school.
The bus came and I got on, I saw Jeongyeon, I smiled and sat down next to her, she was looking through her notes. "What a surprise someone is early today." I rolled my eyes at her words. She knew it was me because nobody else sat next to her, they were scared of Jeongyeon for some reason, but to me she wasn't scary at all.. "I just felt like waking up early-"
"Waking up early or going to the tailor to get your nametag."
"How do you know!?" I was shocked, "Cmon I saw you hiding from Mr. Choi and getting your tag stuck in the door, like a month ago"
"Oh.. that day, yeah. I went back to find my tag but it wasn't there."
"Did you go to the office?"
"No... maybe I should do that."
Jeongyeon looked at me like I was crazy, I just smiled. "What, is there something on my face?"
"Yeah, stupidity." I just sighed and sat back talking to her, but I was just talking to myself. Jeongyeon wasn't much of a talker, just sometimes there would be moments where she would talk and I would be dead silent just to hear her.
"Want to go to the carnival tomorrow?" I asked, hoping she would respond, "I have to study." She didn't even look up from the book while speaking. "C'mon you can study later, let's go just for one hour at least."
The bus stopped, "I'm guessing you already have your outfit and you'll be coming to my place?" Jeongyeon guesses exactly right. "Bingo, you got it right." I smiled and locked my arm with hers while getting off the bus.
"We're gonna have so much fun!" Jeongyeon just sighed and shook her head.
You can't just waste your youth by being stuck in books all day, I'll make sure you'll live a happy life, that's what I promised her.
