Nothing lasts forever

Hello.

'So make sure to grab your umbrellas L.A. looks like we might actually get some rain today!' You turned off your radio and headed for the front door. Umbrella in hand, you knew that a little rain wasn't going to ruin the best day of your life. As you walk down to the street you notice your palms are getting sweaty from the nerves of your first day at your new job. It's not easy becoming a makeup artist in L.A. but you did it! You finally landed a job at Capital Records as their head makeup artist for all of their music videos, posters and any events the company needs you for. You're so excited, you've worked so hard for this and it's finally here; your big break!

You pass a local coffee shop and decide to stop in for your favorite drink, a hazelnut latte. Since you didn't catch much sleep the night before, you figured you need some caffeine because sleepy eyes and yawns does not make up for a great first impression. As you wait for your order to be called out, you look out the window admiring the beautiful view. 'It's supposed to rain today?' you think to yourself staring off to the clear blue sky. 'With what clouds?' You shrug your shoulders and look down at your umbrella, 'Better safe than sorry I guess'. "I have a medium hot hazelnut latte!" the barista calls out. You grab your drink and start heading to work.

Lost in your thoughts you notice the clouds start coming in pretty quickly and a loud thunder sound is your cue to open up your umbrella. 'How strange.' you start thinking. 'It was clear skies just 10 minutes ago!' And then the rain starts, a little drizzle at first and then it starts pouring. You know it's a bad idea but you start to run. Capital Records is only a block away, and you don't want to show up soaking wet. You start running up the few steps that are right outside the front door. You slip on the last step, with no railing in sight to help you, you start falling backward. You close your eyes anticipating the fall but you just feel like you're floating. Slowly you begin to open them and you lock eyes with a cute stranger. "Hello".
