The next morning arrived with the gentle rays of dawn filtering through the curtains. Jungkook awoke to the sound of birds chirping outside and the comforting warmth of Y/N nestled beside him. He lay still for a moment, savoring the peaceful start to the day before carefully slipping out of bed, trying not to wake her.

In the kitchen, he brewed a pot of coffee and began preparing breakfast—pancakes, her favorite, along with fresh fruit and yogurt. As he flipped the pancakes, he glanced towards the bedroom, wondering if the baby was as energetic as yesterday.

Just as he finished setting the table, Y/N appeared in the doorway, rubbing sleep from her eyes. She wore one of Jungkook's oversized shirts, her hair tousled, and her face softened by sleep.

"Good morning," Jungkook greeted, crossing the room to give her a kiss. "How'd you sleep?"

"Pretty well, considering," Y/N replied with a smile. "The baby had a bit of a dance party around 3 AM, but I think we're both getting used to that."

Jungkook chuckled, leading her to the table. "I made pancakes. Figured it's a good way to start the day."

Y/N's eyes lit up. "You're spoiling me," she teased, though her delight was evident.

"You deserve it," Jungkook said earnestly, serving her a plate. "Especially with how hard your body's working right now."

They settled into breakfast, the aroma of fresh coffee mingling with the sweet scent of pancakes. Their conversation flowed easily, touching on plans for the nursery and the upcoming baby shower that their friends had insisted on organizing.

After breakfast, they moved to the living room, where Jungkook began assembling a baby crib that had arrived earlier in the week. Y/N sat nearby, reading the instructions aloud and occasionally offering helpful suggestions. Their laughter filled the room as they navigated the confusing instructions together, each mistake and correction a reminder of the new adventure they were embarking on.

Jungkook tightened the last bolt, stepping back to admire their handiwork. "Not bad, if I do say so myself."

Y/N stood, running a hand over the crib's smooth wooden surface. "It's perfect," she said softly, her eyes misting with emotion. "I can't wait to see our baby sleeping here."

Jungkook wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder. "Me neither," he murmured, pressing a kiss to her cheek. "Every day it feels more real."

Their moment of quiet reflection was interrupted by the ringing of Jungkook's phone. He sighed, reluctantly pulling away to answer it. "It's the company," he said apologetically before stepping into the hallway.

The call was brief but urgent. The company needed him for a last-minute meeting and a quick photoshoot for an upcoming promotion. Jungkook's shoulders sagged slightly as he re-entered the living room.

"They need me to come in," he said, trying to mask his frustration. "It won't be long, just a couple of hours."

Y/N's eyes reflected understanding and concern. "It's okay, Kookie. Go do what you need to. I'll be fine here."

Jungkook nodded, though he couldn't shake the feeling of guilt. "I'll be back as soon as I can," he promised, kissing her forehead. "Just call me if you need anything, okay?"

"I will," Y/N assured him, squeezing his hand. "Don't worry about me. I've got plenty to keep me busy."

With a reluctant glance back, Jungkook left the apartment, the door closing softly behind him. Y/N watched him go, her heart swelling with a mixture of love and pride. She knew how hard he worked to balance his responsibilities, and she admired his dedication.

The company building was buzzing with activity when Jungkook arrived. He was quickly ushered into a conference room where the other members were already gathered. They greeted him with the usual mix of camaraderie and teasing.

"Back so soon?" Jin quipped, raising an eyebrow. "Did you forget something at home?"

"Yeah, his sanity," J-Hope joked, earning a round of laughter.

Jungkook rolled his eyes but couldn't help smiling. "You wish. They just needed me for this meeting and a quick shoot."

"Must be hard, juggling everything," RM said sympathetically. "But you're doing great, Kookie."

"Thanks," Jungkook replied, feeling a surge of gratitude. "It helps having you guys around."

The meeting was brief, focused on scheduling and upcoming promotions. As soon as it wrapped up, Jungkook was whisked away to the photoshoot. Despite the fast pace and constant demands, his thoughts remained anchored on Y/N and their baby.

The photoshoot went smoothly, a blur of flashing lights and posed smiles. Jungkook moved through it with professional ease, but the moment it ended, he was out the door and on his way back home.

When Jungkook arrived back at the apartment, he found Y/N standing by the window, her hand resting on her belly as she gazed out at the city. She turned as he entered, a smile lighting up her face.

"Hey, you're back already!" she exclaimed, moving to embrace him.

"Yeah, I didn't want to be away for too long," Jungkook said, pulling her close. "Missed you."

"I missed you too," Y/N said, resting her head against his chest. "But you didn't have to rush."

"I wanted to," Jungkook insisted, leading her to the couch. "How was your day?"

"Productive," Y/N replied, sitting down beside him. "I finished some work and started organizing the nursery. And I might have ordered a few more baby clothes online."

Jungkook laughed, his eyes crinkling with affection. "Our baby's going to have the best wardrobe in town."

Y/N's face softened, her eyes brimming with love. "He is also going to have the best dad."

Jungkook's heart swelled, and he leaned in to kiss her. "And the best mom," he whispered against her lips.

Their moment of quiet intimacy was interrupted by a sudden tightening in Y/N's expression. She gasped softly, her hand flying to her belly.

"Are you okay?" Jungkook asked, his eyes widening in concern.

"I think it's just Braxton Hicks," Y/N said, her breath hitching. "Practice contractions. They're normal at this stage."

Jungkook's worry didn't abate, but he nodded, rubbing her back soothingly. "Do you need anything? Water? A break?"

Y/N shook her head, her breathing evening out. "I'm okay. Just need to rest a bit."

Jungkook helped her settle more comfortably on the couch, tucking a blanket around her and placing a pillow behind her back. He sat beside her, holding her hand, his thumb brushing over her knuckles.

They spent the evening quietly, the TV playing in the background as they talked softly about their hopes for the future and their excitement for the baby's arrival. The occasional twinge of discomfort in Y/N's expression kept Jungkook on edge, but she reassured him each time, her strength and calm demeanor helping to ease his worry.

As night fell, they moved to the bedroom, where Jungkook helped Y/N get comfortable before lying down beside her. He wrapped an arm around her, his hand resting on her belly, feeling the gentle movements of their baby.

"Almost there," he murmured, his voice filled with love and anticipation. "Just a little longer."

Y/N smiled, her eyes closing as she nestled against him. "I can't wait," she whispered. "We're going to be a family soon."

With those words, they drifted off to sleep, the promise of their future and the love they shared wrapping around them like a comforting embrace. The days ahead were uncertain, filled with the unknowns of parenthood, but together, they knew they could face anything.
