Addie, Saige, and I sat down at a lunch table nearest to the window. Addie clapped her hands excitedly. "Great! Now I have my own friend group," she said.

I frowned. "But don't you have Cora and Eliza?"

Addie shrugged. "Well before you two came I took turns sitting with their friends. But I'm not interested in theater or space,"

"Space?" Saige asked.

Addie nodded. "Cora loves astronomy,"

It seemed like they all had something they enjoyed except for Maya who most likely doesn't like anything or than being a spoiled brat. I turned to Addie. "What do you like?" I asked.

She looked at the ceiling thoughtfully before answering. "I really like studying about kingdoms," she answered, "Well, it's mostly royalty. I'm pretty sure I know almost all royal traditions from almost every country,"

"You'd make the perfect queen," I said, "I'm sure Maya just wants to be queen because it'll give her even more attention,"

Saige sighed. "I wish I could attend. It seems very nice,"

"I'm pretty sure our whole class is invited," Addie said, "And I'd love you to come,"

"Great!" Saige said with a grin.

The coronation just reminded me about rehearsals. I hope I didn't have to speak. But I doubt it, why would they choose me to speak of all people? I'm just an outsider. Everyone seems to know each other but of course, no one knows me because I'm a villager. I winced and glanced at Maya. She was sitting at the same table as that Noah boy and other kids who I assume were the popular and most wealthy kids.

"Doesn't he look so handsome?" Addie asked, meeting my gaze, "I mean I can't imagine liking anyone else but him,"

He looked normal to me but I didn't want to be rude so I just nodded. "And if you get to be queen..." Saige said, eyeing Noah, "That means you have to marry him. Right?"

Addie nodded subconsciously, her eyes still on Noah.

"I don't get it," I said finally, "Why are these people obsessed with setting up marriages?"

Addie looked a bit shocked to hear that. "Obsessed?" Addie asked, "But it's only the Fortune Relic,"

"You said that boy was supposed to marry Alexandra," I pointed out, "Surely the Fortune Relic didn't say so,"

"But it did," Addie said, "And Noah isn't just a boy,"

I wanted to roll my eyes but I didn't want to get on Addie's bad side.

When lunch was over, Addie told me and Saige that sorcery was next. I got excited about that because I'd be using real magic for the first time. "What kind of spells would we be casting?" I asked

"Well since this subject is new," Addie explained as we walked inside the classroom, "We are just learning how to turn things into other things. Plus, since the teachers hardly know anything about sorcery we have new teachers,"

So when we walked inside the classroom, Ms. Bedford wasn't there. It was a young lady with very light blonde hair that almost looked white. She waved and smiled at us. "Oh, yes, the new students I was told about," she said.

"She's really nice," Addie whispered to me and Saige then went to sit down at her desk.

"I'm Ms. Hallewell," she said, "You two must be Annika and Saige,"

We nodded.

"Well I told two students who are very skilled at sorcery to help you out," Ms. Hallewell said.

Ms. Hallewell motioned for two students to come over to us. Those students were none other than Maya and Noah. Okay, I didn't have anything against Noah. He seemed nice since I've seen him talk to his friends about Knightly Cards or whatever. It's these cards boys are obsessed with, even in the village. Each of them has a famous knight on there with interesting facts. You can get common, interesting, rare, and legendary. Honestly, I just think you can use them as flashcards if you're having a test on knights.

But since Noah hangs out with a person like Maya, I wasn't sure if he was all that nice. Maya on the other hand was mean and I don't need to tell you all about her.

"Maya you can help Saige," Ms. Hallewell, "And Noah you can help Annika,"

They both nodded. Saige rolled her eyes as she followed Maya and I followed Noah to my own desk. "Do you have a wand?" he asked.

I nodded and got it out from my desk. Noah got out his spell book and flipped a few pages. "Ms. H wants me to teach you the spells we learned earlier this year," he explained, "So I'll show you those first,"

Everything seemed as if they were going normal. I mean, Noah showed me how to turn a pencil into a rock and an eraser into a small flower and then back to normal again. It was going well, unlike Maya and Saige. Saige was having a hard time with the whole society thing and Maya got annoyed quickly. "Is it really that hard?" Maya said, annoyed, "All you have to do is say heroedo and tap the eraser,"

"I don't know, maybe my wand is broken, you brat," Saige snapped.

Maya gasped and narrowed her eyes. "Brat? I'm just telling you what you need in order to pass. Oh well, at least my hair isn't indecisive about it's color,"

She pointed to Saige's hair with her wand. "It looks pretty ugly if you ask me,"

Saige looked shocked then gritted her teeth, pointing her wand at Maya. "Maybe I could turn you into a flower. An ugly one at that since you're already ugly!"

So that's how Saige and Maya got their wands revoked for the rest of class and they had to sit on opposite sides of the room.

"It seems like they were enemies for their whole lives," Noah said to me.

I agreed but really Maya is just someone you can't get along with quickly. Noah then squinted at me like he was trying to figure out something about me. Or maybe he had a staring problem. That's what happens to most people when they meet me for the first time. Or so it seems like.

"Hey, where did you come from?" he asked finally, "You didn't say where you moved from,"

I blinked. Oh right. I didn't think he'd notice, or anyone for that matter. Still, what was in it for him? Maybe Maya told him already and he just wanted to hear it come out of my mouth. I looked around the classroom, trying to figure out how to avoid the question. Then Noah tapped his chin with his wand then pointed it at me. "I know you come from here," he said as if he was some detective, "But you're no noble girl. You're a commoner,"

In my opinion I like the idea of Saige's hair, I would dye it if my hair was straight (actually not). Do you like this chapter so far? I think it's pretty interesting. Thanks for reading!
