I doubt hardly anyone was in a good mood. Other than the Maya lovers out there. I just kept thinking about Maya wanting to exile me. Maybe that wasn't such a bad idea since I wouldn't be there when Destinia gets ruined and I could find Tomas. For the whole Sunday, Addie didn't come out of her room, not even to eat. I wanted to talk to her maid told me it was best not to. I'm honestly not sure when I'm going to hear from Addie again. She left for her parents' house on Sunday evening and I don't know when she'll move over to the coronation. Especially since there was going to be a parade for Maya and they were preparing for it on Sunday. I don't think I'll ever stop feeling horrible for Addie. On Monday morning I stared at the tiara placed on my head. It stayed on my nightstand but I really wanted to chuck it out the window. Not only did I feel bad for Addie I couldn't believe that Maya was supposed to be queen. Not only was she horrible, it just didn't make sense. I mean, if they used the Fortune Relic for Alexandra then why did it show her instead of Maya? I knew it had something to do with Lady Mary.

The carriage ride was quiet on the way to school except for Maya's constant blabbering about what she'd do when she officially became queen. She even wore a tiara which made her look stupid and like a little kid. Things really didn't become better when a bunch of girls surrounded Maya saying they were going to attend the dumb parade. I saw Saige walking towards me and she even pushed a girl to get to me. She looked angrier than how I felt. "Can you believe it?" Saige told me, "Maya's going to be queen!"

I shrugged. "It doesn't really make sense,"

Saige raised her eyebrow, "What do you mean?"

"You know how Alexandra was supposed to be queen?" I explained, "Well it should have shown Maya since the Fortune Relic can show the future. You know?"

Saige just stared at me without saying anything. Maybe I was the only one who thought that. Were these people really that clueless?

"So you think Alexandra isn't supposed to be queen?" Saige asked

"I don't think Maya or Alexandra is supposed to be queen," I said, "It's just two of Lady Mary's favorites. Maybe she's tampering with the magic or something. Whatever, I want to get to the bottom of this,"

Saige was speechless so I walked off. I couldn't stand those obnoxious girls gushing over Maya becoming queen. I don't know if it's just me but they sound fake. As I walked inside the classroom, I felt someone push me. I thought it could be an accident but it was Noah and he seemed pretty mad. He didn't even say hi to me! Is this a bad thing that this concerns me? I figured he was mad that he now had to marry Maya in the future. I don't blame him one bit. Being married to Maya would be like a physiological punishment. Still, I sat at my desk and waited for class to begin.

I figured class was going to be normal, you know, reading, math, and that stuff. But right when the beginning bell rang, Mrs. Bedford looked really happy. "Before class begins," she chirped, "I just want to congratulate one of our students who is going to be the future queen!"

"That's me!" Maya exclaimed, standing up.

Almost everybody clapped and just so I didn't look bitter, I clapped too. Maya really seemed to like this attention. She happily sat down and Mrs. Bedford faced the class. "To support our classmate and future leader," Mrs. Bedford said, "I want all of you to attend the parade happening this evening,"

Yeah and some of us have to be there or else a certain lady in waiting will give us the death stare.

Right before lunch, I saw Ms. Bedford giving Maya some books about Destinian history and past rulers. I felt bad that Mrs. Bedford was being so supportive to some mean brat like Maya. It also made me mad at Mrs. Bedford for not seeing through Maya quickly. Surely she had to be mean before I came here. Saige seemed even angrier about it. "Now Maya gets all the attention," she said.

We sat at our usual spot at lunch but it didn't exactly feel the same without Addie. I wished she was here to talk about her crush on Noah. Instead, I had to listen to Saige's rant. "She doesn't even deserve it," she raged, "I mean, she's a brat,"

"Mmh," I said for like the fortieth time.

Eventually, Saige fell quiet but then turned to me. I looked back at her, expecting her to say something but she said nothing. "What?" I asked finally

"Did you really mean that you think Alexandra and Maya aren't supposed to be queen?" she asked.

I slowly nodded. Like I said, it didn't make any sense. And I was all about things making sense. "Yeah," I said, "I do,"

Saige furrowed her brows. "Then who do you think is the queen?"

"I have no idea," I replied with a shrug, "I'm not the Fortune Relic...if the Fortune Relic is truthful that is,"

Saige and I were silent for the rest of lunch. I didn't mind, there was nothing for us to talk about anyway.

As Saige and I walked to our class, I felt someone step on the heel of my shoe. I wasn't even walking that slow! As I fixed my shoe I saw that Maya and her group of followers were standing there. What did she want? Didn't she know how dumb she looked with that tiara? "If Addie does come back," Maya said to me bitterly, "Tell her she took all my attention away,"

I raised my eyebrow. Seriously? After Addie ran off, everything continued like it was normal. I mean, people still talked about it but Maya still got all the attention she needed so badly.

"Yeah, more like your undeserved attention," I shot back, "Addie is more suited to be queen than you. And what are you going to do with all those books Mrs. Bedford gave you? I'm sure Addie would have loved those,"

Maya's face turned red with anger. It was clear she knew I was right, she knew nothing about being queen. Only the attention and fame. Saige stepped forward, it looked like she wanted to strangle Maya. And I don't think she was far from doing so. "If you truly become queen," Saige said, glancing at me, "Then Destinia is doomed. You will be a horrible queen,"

Maya blinked and then looked at the girls following her as if they were going to say anything. Maya turned back to us and clenched her teeth. "You're just jealous!" she snapped, "Jealous, jealous, jealous!"

She didn't need to say it three more times. I started to feel not sorry for Maya but more embarrassed for her.

"Why would we be jealous of you?" Saige retorted, "Besides, you're the one who's jealous,"

Maya balled up her fist. "Jealous of what? A commoner and a random girl from nowhere. I don't even know you. You're the one jealous of me for no reason,"

Just then, Ms. Hallewell stepped from our classroom to look at the commotion. I didn't notice some other kids were looking at us as well. I was starting back away because I didn't want to get roped into this. But just as Ms. Hallewell was starting to walk over, asking, "Hey, what's going on?", Saige's fist flew across, landing right in the middle of Maya's face.

Sorry that I didn't put any chapters in a long time. To be honest I was being a bit lazy since it's the middle of my summer break and all. But I'll try to put more chapter frequently like before. Did you like this chapter? Thanks for reading!
