DOROTHEA USUALLY LOVED LEAVING town, especially when she knew that she was going to have an amazing time before coming back home. the way the trees got caught in the wind, it was almost like they would wave goodbye to her, and welcome her every time she came back. there was only one problem, she wasn't coming back. at least, not for a while.

there currently was a sunrise up ahead, so the images in front of her were breathtakingly beautiful. and she would have appreciated it all a bit more if she wasn't leaving town right now to move to another one. not just any other one. it was the same exact town she grew up in. the same town she spent the first eighteen years of her life in. the thought, originally, may sound exciting and nostalgic, but not for dorothea. she wasn't ready to face all the familiar faces because she was sure that nothing has changed since she left.

it was part of the reason she chose to leave in the first place. she felt as though there wasn't anything that could help satisfy her and her dreams. see, dorothea always dreamed of being famous. whether that be singing or painting or writing, she didn't quite know. but what she did know was that she wouldn't have been able to accomplish such things living in her old town.

dorothea was just wishing that going back wouldn't cause her to get sucked back into her old life, she already had enough going for her here in chicago. five years of work made her where she is now and she didn't want to let any of that go, that being said she promised herself that she wouldn't speak to a certain list of people. she knew that the paths down those memory lanes would lead to something that would make it far much harder for her to leave in the long run. her old boyfriend from high school being at the very top of that list.

she had no idea how she was going to be able to avoid him. it was a small town and he was always everywhere back when she lived there. so she could only imagine all the places his face could be found now. to really avoid him, she'd have to just stay inside all day every day. which did not sound like much fun whatsoever.
