THE SOUND OF clicking from a keyboard could be heard throughout the room as Kyren sat at his desk, typing away. His face held a small pout as he focused on his essay that his professor assigned from college. He was already 5,000 words into it from working on it all morning and just needed 50 more. It was now 11:46 AM and he had already freshened himself up. He heard the bed move behind him making his movements stop, not wanting to interrupt sleep.

He heard a soft groan and the movement of the sheets so he continued his typing now knowing Lyric was now awake. She stood up slowly before stretching her body. She walked to Kyren connected bathroom and cut the light on. She squinted her eyes at the brightness and blinked plenty of times, adjusting her eyes as she closed the door. She walked to the toilet and used it before wiping and flushing it. She went to sink and washed her hands.

"Ky where do you keep your toothbrushes?" Lyric semi-yelled. She just woke up and she didn't want to yell but she knew that was only way he could hear her besides going back into the room.

"In the drawer in the sink." He said loud enough for her to hear, hoping he didn't wake Ezrah. Lyric looked where he said and she said a pack of toothbrushes there. "I see them. Thanks boo!" She replied. She began brushing her teeth after wetting it and squeezing toothpaste on it. A moment after she was certain her teeth were clean and her breath was minty.

She walked out the bathroom and walked to the bed where the baby lay and she saw he was still sound asleep so she walked to Kyren seeing he was reading his essay.

"Good morning." She stared down at his face and he looked up at her. "Good morning shorty." He replied making her smile. He looked back at the screen smirking. She pulled on the back of the rolling chair making it roll back a little. She stepped in front of him before sitting on his lap—his left leg actually— facing the computer. Her small frame covered half of the screen making him tilt his head to the right. He wrapped his left arm around her small waist to keep her from falling off.

"What ya doing?" Lyric asked referring to the long pages on his screen.

"Some work for this stupid college class. Nigga wanted 5,050 words like he knows he ain't reading all this shit." Kyren said with a mug on his face making Lyric laugh.

"You know some of these words could've been written out right? You probably would've been had 5,050. Like wouldn't should've been would not... you understand what I'm saying?" She asked and he nodded going back over his essay doing what she said. It was quiet before Lyric spoke again.
