KARLIE'S POV:

Walking through the woods is my favorite activity. It's calm. Peaceful. Cool. Quiet. Filled with screams. Wait, what?

"Who is screaming?" I think to myself as I hear the ear-piercing scream. I could barely make out the words but I think it was something along the lines of, "Ugh Meredith!"

I thought no one was out here. I'm miles away from the Palace. Who would be this far out of the kingdom? Especially in this weather. You see, even thought vampires can handle the cold, we don't usually go out this far in the winter months because of the vampire hunters. The hunters seem to be more watchful during this time because they think us vampires can't handle the sun, so we only go out during winter. They surround the borders of Wurzburg and watch out for us. As if we would be any harm. Humans are so stupid. Anyways, I try to sense where the sound is coming from. It seems like it's coming from the North.

I start running full-speed towards the noise. I love running. Vampires can run up to a speed of 500 mph. It's very exciting running so quickly.

Once I get closer to the noise I notice a big redish-brownish barn. After I get even closer I also notice a girl. A beautiful girl might I add. She looks tall, not as tall as me though, and she has long blonde hair. She seems to be running after something. After closer inspection I see she's chasing after a cat.

I hide behind a tree in fear she might see me. Thankfully she hasn't yet. She runs after the cat and into the big barn. I assume she catches her cat as after she exits she is holding it.

"I wish to see her more closely." I think as she enters into the house near the barn. I could barely see her but I just know she is gorgeous. I wonder what color eyes she has. Brown? Green? Blue?

"Oh." I say in surprise as I notice that I can see her through the window. It's almost as if she senses me and looks directly at me and waves. I gasp as I notice the blues eyes she bears. They are stunning. I go to wave back but, before I could she was gone. Strange. I then hear loud footsteps and see the gorgeous girl running towards me. Not only her though. A man is following. I hide behind the nearest tree and hold my breath so they won't see me. It would be startling to see a cloaked figure standing in your yard after all.

"No one is here, Taylor. Don't tell me this is another one of your stupid pranks." I hear the boy say.

So Taylor is her name. A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.

"No, I swear someone was right there! I saw them standing there, staring at me!" Oops. Didn't mean to scare her.

"You're crazy, you're just trying to get back at me for letting your cat out." The man says. "Plus, why would someone be out here anyway? We're surrounded by trees and it's freezing out." It is freezing. Too bad I'm not affected by the cold. I've always wondered what it's like for humans to be cold.

"I could've sworn... I don't know, maybe I'm going crazy." The girl, Taylor, says. I shake my head as if she can see me and whisper under my breath, "You're not going crazy."

I don't hear the humans bickering about my presence anymore so I assume the went back into the house. I stare back into the window again for a couple minutes until I see Taylor again.

She looks as if she doesn't believe I'm there.

The last thing I think before leaving is, "Why am I here? Why am I so attracted to a human?"
