Chapter 5: Danielle

TAYLOR'S POV

I realize that Karlie is no longer around me.

"How did she leave so fast?" I question out loud.

"How did who leave so fast?" Austin says as he walks around the house towards me.

"Uh, no one." I say, probably a little too quickly.

"Okaaay? Um, anyways I was wondering if you wanted to go into town with me? I finished all my chores so I have nothing to do,"

"Yes I would like that! I only had to get water today, anyways. Let me just run these inside real quick," I reply, grabbing the water pails and bringing them inside.

"I hope you drop the pails and have to go back and get more water," He says jokingly.

"Shut up you fart, that's why you don't have a girlfriend yet!" I retort.

"tHaT's wHy YoU dOn'T hAvE a GiRlFrIenD YeT! blah blah blah..."

"You're such a child!" I laugh.

"Why thank you!" He says while bowing.

I put the pails down in the kitchen and walk back towards where Austin is standing.

"Do you think maybe Ed could come along? I haven't seen him in a while."

"Yes of course Ed can come! He's like, my favorite friend you have." Austin says excitedly.

"He's like, one of the only friends I have," I reply.

"No, you have Selena!" He says back to me.

"Exactly, hence the word, 'only'," I say, rolling my eyes. Brothers really seem to be stupid sometimes.

"Ohhh. Heh my bad."

"Oh my gosh, let's just go before you do anything even more stupid," I say, starting off towards the front door.

"Hey! I'm not that stupid!" He says before opening the door.

"Yes, you are, don't even try to argue with me," I say while walking outside.

Austin doesn't respond. I'm glad he took my advice with not arguing with me.

We walk in silence for the whole way to Ed's house. My mind wanders off to Karlie. I'm still confused why she left so suddenly. Maybe she had something to do? But why didn't she say goodbye? She's a confusing girl. Hopefully I'll see her again soon.

Ed comes running up to us as soon as we make our way to his house.

"Hey Taylor!" Ed says, greeting me.

"Ed! I feel like we haven't seen each other in so long!" I say, "We have to continue writing our story soon,"

"Yes, we really do," Ed replies before turning to Austin, "Hi Austin, how are you?"

"I'm doing well, thank you, but let's cut the small talk and get going, I have places to be people!" Austin exclaims.

Ed looks over at me and raises his eyebrow. I just shrug my shoulders in response.

We walk through the grass and onto the path leading into town. Me and Ed continue to talk about what we should do for our story while Austin trails behind us. We eventually get into town and walk into the Haim Bar. We're friends with the Haim sisters so we always get a few free drinks here and there. As soon as we walk in we see Danielle Haim sitting in a booth to the right.

"Danielle! Hello! I haven't seen you in so long!" I squeal.

"Taylor Swift? Oh my gosh it's been forever!" She says, jumping up to hug me.

We stand there for a while before breaking the hug and Danielle acknowledges Austin and Ed.

"Hi Ed! Oh, I've missed you!" Danielle has been known to have a slight crush on Ed. Of course Ed himself doesn't know this. But, everyone else does. You better believe me when I say EVERYONE.

After giving Ed and bone crushing hug, Danielle turns to Austin to greet him as well.

"Oh I've missed you too, buddy," She says, giving Austin and side-hug.

Danielle had been gone for about 2 months. She was visiting her aunt for something. Her sisters, Alana and Este, for some reason didn't go with her. They always are with each other as well. Who knows? Maybe the other two don't like their aunt?

We all sit down at the bar to catch up Danielle on everything she had missed while she was gone. Which wasn't a lot really, seeing as it was the year 1713 and nothing goes on in this era.

We sit and talk for what seems like hours until the bar eventually closes and everyone leaves.

Danielle's father, Moti, comes around the counter and says to us,

"Hey kids, the bars closing up for the night,"

We all look up from our conversation to him and nod our heads.

"Okay, well it's been good seeing you Dani! We have to hang out soon!" I say, once again hugging Dani.

"Yes of course!" She exclaims back to me.

After Ed and Austin bid their farewells, we set off to our houses. While on the way I could swear I saw a cloaked figure following us. Every time I looked towards the figure though, it disappeared.
