Everyone sat at the long dinner table. The room was lit by luxurious chandeliers on the ceiling and candles on the table. (Y/n) had settled her plushies in her bag so as to not get them dirty.

(Y/n) was sat next to Luffy at her right and Merry at her left. He was at the end of the table, facing Kaya at the opposite. It disappointed the little girl that the host was so far away, but Luffy instantly cheered her up.

(Y/n) observed the interaction across the table, such as Zoro getting Sham to bring another bottle of wine, or Klahadore refusing to serve Kaya the fish she desired, on the grounds of her illness.

Instead, she received a 'special soup', which consisted of an abnormally blue substance in a porcelain bowl, decorated with cream and herbs.

Watching from afar, (y/n) had to lean over the table slightly and gain some height to see what content the bowl held.

She raised a brow when she saw the soup. None of them was served anything with a similar color. In fact, she doesn't think she ever eaten something like that.

"Kaya, it's your birthday. You should be able to eat whatever you want," Nami commented as next to her, Luffy was eating whatever he could grab.

"Miss Kaya's medical condition necessitates that I closely monitor her dietary needs," Klahadore opposed. "Does it mean you also speak for her?" Nami shot back.

The butler narrowed his eyes faintly, sensing her mistrust. Luffy then raised his hand. "I'll take her fish," he requested.

There was a moment of awkward silence after his request. (Y/n) glanced at him from the corner of her eye before Usopp spoke up. "Luffy, isn't there something that you wanted to talk to Kaya about?"

"Oh! Yes!" Luffy suddenly remembered, fortunately changing the subject. "Usopp told me that you own the whole shipyard."

Kaya smiled sweetly. "Well, actually my parents founded the shipyard, and Merry's been running the business since..." Kaya interrupted herself for a second. "Well, since they passed."

(Y/n) looked back down at her plate, knowing the feeling that still burned in her chest, even when she tried to make it go away.

"But all of that's about to change," Kaya informed. "Tonight, at midnight, I will become the sole owner."

Usopp and Kaya exchanged a look before Luffy spoke once more, hopeful. "Well, that's great, because we want to buy a ship from you."

"I see," Kaya stated, turning her gaze back to Luffy. "Usopp mentioned that you're sailors," she added.

"Nope, not sailors," Luffy replied. "We're pirates," he announced proudly. Usopp spit out his drink.

Nami shot a glance at Luffy as (y/n) had to physically restrain herself from facepalming. "This ought to be good," Zoro mumbled, taking another sip from his glass.

Kaya's inviting smile wavered, turning into a confused expression. "Pirates?" she repeated, hoping she had somehow misunderstood. "Yep," Luffy confirmed.

"We haven't sailed together for long, but we have already defeated an evil clown, raided a Marine base, and taken down a captain with an axe for a hand," he added, unknowingly not helping his cause at all.

"These sound a lot like your adventures, Usopp," Kaya noticed, assuming those stories were a bunch of tales. Usopp laughed nervously. "Yeah, that's... That's crazy."

"Oh yeah. And we're just getting started," Luffy declared, standing up on his chair. This frustrated the butler who demanded that he got back down. Of course, Luffy ignored it.
