Visions and Warnings

Hands. Water. Cold. A star. Drowning.

Pandora thrashed in her bed as her dream went on. But it wasn't a dream, it was a vision. Pandora knew this and she felt helpless. She saw Regulus, her Reggie, a boy she'd come to love like a brother, dying. And she couldn't even wake up. The only thing she could do was watch helplessly as her best friend drowned.

Suddenly, she felt cold hands grab her shoulders and shake her awake.
“Panda?” Xeno asked, gently shaking her. “Panda, love, are you alright?” Xenophilius asked her, “you were crying in your sleep”
Pandora didn't say anything to that, Xeno knew. She knew he knew. He always knew when she had a vision.

“You can change it,” he said, taking her hand in his own. Pandora looked in his eyes, “What?” she said. “You can change it,” he continued, “you don't have to stand by as whatever you saw occurs, you can change the future” his grip on her hand tightened. “How? Xeno, how? That is crazy I…” Pandora stood up, taking her hand away. “I can't change the future, Xeno, I can't-” he cut her off. “Pandora Rosier”, he stood up, taking her hand in his own once again. “You are the smartest person I have ever met. You are the most powerful, incredible person I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with. For Merlin's sake, you make your own spells!” He placed one hand on her cheek. “If anyone can change the future” his icy eyes met her glossy eyes. “it's you” he smiled at her. She smiled back.

Her parents never believed in her abilities as a seer and when they did start believing her, they forbade her from talking about them. Trying to change it seemed so far out of her reach, but now here was Xenophilius Lovegood, changing everything she thought she knew once again. She hugged him, smiling with just a glimmer of hope in her eyes. “I need to find Lily” she said, pulling back from the hug. “She can help him. If Reg will listen to anyone, it's her.” Pandora started gathering her things to visit Lily. “Regulus always did turn into putty in Lily’s hands,” Xeno commented. “Be safe, I don't know what I'd do if I lost you to this war” he said, pressing a kiss to Pandora's hand before she got out the door. “I love you, Xenophilius,” Pandora said, smiling. “I love you more, beloved,” he said. Pandora hugged him and Xeno wrapped his hands around her waist. “I'll be back as soon as I warn Lily” Pandora pulled away, giving Xeno a quick kiss before turning away. She had to find Lily.

“Do you ever think about him?” Lily asked, breaking the silence. “About who?” James looked confused, “Regulus?” He asked. “Yeah, Reg” Lily told him, “I knew we agreed never to speak of him again but I can't get him off my mind and-”
“Lily” James cut her off. “It's okay” he pulled her towards him as they cuddled on the couch. “I miss him too” he kissed her forehead. He had a strange way of calming her down, even just a little bit. James was like that, he just knew how to make people smile.

Suddenly, a knock came pounding on the door. Lily jumped at the sudden noise. Ever since the war started she has been really jumpy and James has gotten more protective, Lily being muggleborn and all. He grabbed both of their wands, handing Lily her's. “Stay here, I'll get it.” James went to open the door, holding up his wand. “Pandora?” He questioned, before lowering his wand. “Panda, it's pouring! Come inside” he pulled her into the house. “Pandora!” Lily smiled, getting up to hug her. “It's so good to see you. How have you been? How's Xeno?” the redhead asked. “I'm alright, so is Xeno, '' Pandora told her. “Actually Lily, I need to talk to you, it's really important. I had another vision-” James cut her off, “A vision? Panda, when was this? I know those tire you. Come sit down, I'll make you some tea.” James led her to the couch. Lily sat next to her and grabbed a blanket for them. “James, I'm fine, don't worry about-” Pandora was interrupted again. “I'll make my mom's tea” he offered, holding up Effie's recipe. “Can I have some too?” Lily asked, “of course, mi amor” James replied. “Lily, I must speak with you, it's urgent.” Pandora faced Lily. “Is it about your vision? Pandora, I promise you, nothing bad will happen-” Lily took the seer's hand in her own to comfort her. “Regulus is going to kill himself.” Pandora said, tears forming in her eyes.
