The sun was shining brightly down onto the open environment known as the shrine ruins.

Suddenly, a pack of small monsters known as jagras run by. These jagras are an evasive species to the shrine ruins, and have been lowering the natural cycle of another species. But the other species has something over them.

Two furry raptor-like monsters chase them down. These are called izuchi, and are actively hunting the jagras. Leading them somewhere. When suddenly, all three of the jagras were decapitated by a swift motion.

The bodies of the jagras all drop dead, as a larger izuchi shows itself.

Great Izuchi
A bird wyvern
An alpha izuchi that has grown to larger size, and leads it's pack. These packs are usually in large numbers, but the great Izuchi gathers two izuchi to bring out onto hunts.

The two izuchi started to eat the heads of the dead jagras, as the great Izuchi watched the surroundings. After the izuchi had their fill, they grabbed the bodies of the jagras, and drags them off towards the rest of the pack, the Alpha following behind.

Nearby, hidden in the shadows was a young boy. He had a kimono-like outfit on, long h/c hair that reaches down to his mid-back, and a kitsune mask on his face. He watched the events occur, and was intrigued. He looked down in his hands, as he held up a book, which had drawings and notes of the monsters he's seen. Currently, he's writing the method of hunting done by izuchi, and the "relationship" it has with the jagras.

Y/n: "interesting... So izuchi does hunt down jagras... Yomogi owes me some dango!"

Y/n closed his book, and put it away in his satchel, before standing up. Behind him, three more stand up. These were his companions.

A warrior palico named Midnight

A guardian Palamute named Dixie

And an overseer Cohort named banka

These three, and the young boy named y/n, were a part of a personal formed team for reconnaissance. For what exactly? well, their village.

Kamura village. A home of many people, villagers, and Hunters.

Y/n: "what's next on the list?"

Y/n pulled out a slip of paper, and reads through it. Next up on his mission to fill out his book: Pukei Pukei. But a voice called out to him before they got moving.

???: "there you are kiddo! I've been looking for ya!"

Y/n turned around, and spotted a much older man, who looked rather muscular for his age.

Y/n: "elder fugen! What are you doing here?"

Fugen: "I got a special mission for ya. One sent by the hunters guild!"

Y/n: "huh?! w-what do they want with me?!"

Fugen: "you're holding right in your hand squirt!"

Y/n looked confused, and looked down at his hands, seeing his book. It took a second, but it clicked.

Y/n: "my research..?"

Fugen: "yep! You've been keeping tabs on the new world mission, right?"

Y/n: "y-yes sir! A whole new island, yet to be discovered.. many unidentified life forms and ecosystems!"

Fugen: "exactly! Which is why the guild wants you to be on the next fleet heading there!"

Y/n: "A- HUH?!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!"

fugen: "as serious as a jaggi's behind! Now get movin' kid! Get yourself prepared!"

Y/n: "y-yes sir!! Come on guys! We gotta get ready!"

Y/n climbs onto the back of Dixie, as she sprints off, with midnight and Banka running and flying along. Leaving fugen alone, a smirk on his face.

Fugen: "you'll do good squirt. Just be careful..."

Overview!
Y/n is a young researcher from kamura, who's own note taking is only rivaled by his own! His keen eye let's him not down every little detail! With his palamute, palico, and Cohoot, and of course, everyone else in the fifth fleet, leads him into the new world...
