Rebel hands Trooper a rose, waving it in his face as if he caught a big fish. The soldier looks at him with a puzzled look compared to the cheesy grin plastered on Rebel's face, he dismisses his gestures.
"What is this for?" Trooper points at the flower, frowning at the roots that still had a bit of dirt dangling from them. "Oh, did you pull that from Jard's garden?"
Rebel's smile drops, "what, no! I mean, yes but it's fresher than what you get from the store!" He clicks his tongue, annoyed by Trooper's response, "I knew plucking it off with my bare hands wasn't worth it."
"You used your bare hands?" Trooper let out a small chuckle, reaching out for his hands to inspect them. "How many splinters did you get anyway?"
Rebel lets the rose fall to the side, flinching when the soldier grabs his palms. He watches Trooper run a thumb over the lines of his hand, inspecting the redness from the thorns. His face burns when Trooper looks up at him, his fingers slightly twitching under his hold.
"Wanna go out for coffee later?" Trooper squeezes his hand slightly, forgetting Rebel's scratches and Rebel winces.
He bites his cheek from blurting out that his touch is hurting him but utters a small simple "yeah."
