A day later.....
The morning was foggy, everyone was silent, not a word could be spoken. The small fleet of civilians boats broke through the fog and arrive at the refugee camp, it was a old fort made of stone, it was large with circles walls with canons on top. A few surviving Vale soliders guarded the place, they reached a dock and walked to the entrance of the fort.
On the wall it read
"Frot Deen, Est. 1954"
The black gates open and everyone walked in.
Soldiers with hazmat suits scanned them for radiation with gieger counters. Lucky as they passed the counters never clicked.
The center of the fort were tents and supplies, but it seemed empty.
Yang turned to a guard.
"Are we the first to arrive?" She asked
The female solider looked down.
"You're the only ones to arrive"
Yang nodded and walked with a limp, some doctors took the wounded to medical tents.
A nurse helped Yang as they took her to a medical tent.
A solider walked around.
"Kitchen has food, get yoursleves something to eat"
Juane walked to the short line, Weiss stopped him.
"How can you eat right now? At a time like this?" Weiss asked
"Eating is for the living" he replied shrugging but his eyes showed he was depressed.
Ruby followed him and so did Blake.
Meanwhile in the medical tent yang remained quiet.
"When that gun fell on your leg it's sprained your ankle and knee, luckily it didn't break, I'd say stay off it for a few days" the doctor said as he wrapped a bandage around her ankle and knee. The doctor was a nice Japanese man with a eye patch.
She remained quiet.
"You tried your best" the doctor said
"We failed, now vale is gone" she replied
"Dont think about what you failed to save and look at what you did save" the doctor said pointing at a family eating together holding each other.
"You saved who you could, that counts for something" the doctor said standing up and packing up his bags.
"Wait who are you?" She asked
"Dr. Serizawa" he said smiling then left.
Yang looked at the family and finally smiled as he was right.
Juane entered the tent with two plates and two cups. He saw her smile and was filled with hope again, he couldn't help but smile.
"I got you something to eat, mashpotates and some chicken steak" juane said handing her a plate and cup.
"My favorite" she replied taking the plate and starting to eat with a spoon.
Juane chuckled.
"How's this for a date?" He said sitting down across from her.
"Better then that time we ate bugs in the fox hole in the grim forest" Yang replied
"Grasshopper was good at least" he said
They both smiled and nodded, they looked out the tent and saw the civilians sitting and eating.
"We did what we could" juane said
"We saved who we could" Yang added.
Juane got up and sat next to her and kissed her.
"Im just really happy I still have you" he said
Yang smiled.
"You always will have me, I'm not going anywhere......gonna take alot more then godzilla to take me away from you" She said
He smiled and kissed her again.
"Sounds to me like we are in it for the long run, I can call you my wife then" he said
Yang giggled.
"Yes you can, and your wife requires more food" she said smiling handing him back the plate.
He smiled and nodded
"Anything for Mrs. Arc" he replied teasing her
She giggled and blushed, throwing a pillow at him.
"Get out if here, you making me blush" she said covering her face.
Juane smiled and walked towards the kitchen, he stopped for a moment and his smile dropped seeing a board with missing people pictures hung up, so many it covered the entire board.
A vtol landed outside the fort, several survivors got out, most with horrific burns. The hazmat team scanned them a few Geiger counters clicked on and they were separated.Ren Limped his way into the fort he was scanned and allowed in. One women wearing a black hood stepped put the vtol and entered the fort.
She scanned around looking for someone, juane walked past the women bumping Into her
"Oh im sorry" jaune said getting a quick look at her face. He paused
The women said nothing and walked away.
"Raven?" He asked
The women stopped removed her hood and looked at him, she griped her sword.
"How do you know my name?" She asked
Juane noticed her gripping her sword, he dropped the plates and cups, he took out the picture he saved, and showed it to her.
She let go of her sword and took the picture looking at it, she saw the pack had their names on it.
"Are you a friend of yangs?" She asked
Juane nodded.
"You could say that" he replied
"Take me to her, I have something important I need to tell her" Raven said
"She's in the medical tent, this way" Jaune said
Leading the way he did not know what would happen.
He entered the tent yang smiled but her smile quickly dropped seeing Raven.
Moment of silence was really loud yang finally spoke up.
"The fuck are you doing here?" Yang asked
Raven rolled her eyes amd crossed her arms.
"You want to do this, let's fucking do this, whatever you have to say just get it off your chest here and now" Raven said
Yang tried to stand up and jaune helped her up.
"I have nothing to say to you" Yang replied
"Good stop crying like a child so we can..." Raven was stopped being punched in the face by yang, she fell to the floor holding her jaw.
"Okay, I got that off my chest" Yang said rubbing her fist.
