(AN: Alright, alright. I know this was supposed to be the last chapter for this arc, but I've lied. Next chapter should be the actual final chapter for this arc. We have a much more Iron Man-centric story today...)

====================

[Lower Manhattan]

"We won't. Thank you, General." Iron Man removed himself from out the secure channel and the crackly static dissipated, leaving him alone with his own thoughts. The sky was darkening, grey clouds brewing threatening a violent downpour. It would only make rescue efforts all the more difficult, especially with the large volumes of ocean water flooding through the city. Crashing waves smashed into and overtop buildings, and it was only exacerbated by the monster's thundering march. It let out another bellowing roar that shook the earth, throwing itself through an entire neighbourhood as if it were an inconsequential action...

Tony had much to think about, and yet, every second wasted only emboldened the monster further. Its rampage would only continue. There was no other way to stop it other than putting it down for good.

The bulky golden Iron Man armour hovered in the air, overlooking the entire battlefield like some guardian angel.

His repulsors did nothing against the creature's thick hide, and it was so big that any attack was miniscule by comparison. The armour was strong, but it wasn't strong enough, and it was displaying its weakness clearly. He could feel the strain of the suit on his own body. The Mark Model 1 Mark III was overly cumbersome and even against the enormous whale creature's slow strikes, his mobility wasn't good enough. It afforded him barely enough time to escape danger...

A warning subsequently flashed up on his heads-up display, as if responding to his concerns.

The armour was running out of power, and it wouldn't be long before all function shut down entirely.

That was a problem.

Not only was the enormous iron suit far too heavy, weighing him down, but the energy it sapped from his body was far too great a toll to merely keep him afloat.

It was a dangerous game, and he had to remember Tony Stark was no Asgardian. He was a mortal man, a man whose heart was at risk, and could easily fail if pushed further and further to a breaking point.

After this mess was cleaned up and concluded, Tony's first priority was designing a new suit. An armour that was lighter, less bulky, one that wouldn't put so much pressure on his own body in order to function properly. He couldn't risk his own weaponry giving out in the middle of a life-or-death showdown.

It had to be a suit that would be stronger and better than the Model 1 in every single way.

He glanced down at his allies, Thor, Ant-Man and the Wasp.

The Thunder God was throwing wave after wave of lighting, crashing his awesome hammer into the beast. It didn't even flinch. Thor wore a determined look, a stoic defiance against the seemingly insurmountable ocean beast. He refused to give in, his warrior traditions fuelling him onwards. However, it was clear that he was fatigued. He was already tired from travelling between realms and from fighting his half-brother, Loki.
