You look to your left and right. You see no sign of cars which you would expect, seeing as you are walking through a national forrest. Again you make a double reassurance to look left and right. You still see no cars, so you begin to cross at the traffic lights, leading you through the winding road of nowhere.
You pause and debate on whether to press the pedestrian crossing button and wait to cross or to walk through without waiting. Why is this light even here You think to yourself. You hesitate for a while and just as you decide to cross without listening to the traffic lights, the walking light indicates green, making you feel foolish for not waiting. Once you cross the road, you look left and right confused on which way to go.
Starting a new night shift job and having your car break down, making you walk home early saturday morning, isn't exactly on your bucket list of things you wanted to be doing. You knew that cutting through the national forrest was a huge shortcut home, cutting off almost an hour of time, you just didn't think that it could be so dark and daunting.
You glance at your phone to check the time 03:21am it read. Just as you were about to place your phone in your pocket you noticed your phone buzzing, feeling hopeful that it could have been your friend Gemma, replying to your sos request. You eagerly open the screen up again. '15% battery' you read. In annoyance you shove your phone aggressively into your pocket. And continue to walk in the dark.
With the mere absence of street lamps, the streets are all dark, making it hard to take notice of where you are going. Occasionally you will walk past a gap of no trees, causing the brightly lit moon to shine and give you a moment of relief.
Feeling like you have been walking forever and becoming lost, you pull out your phone to check the time and where you're going again.
"Fuck" you mutter to yourself as you realise your phone is flat.
In a fit of anger and rage you scream and throw your phone down, the instant regret hits you as you lunge forward to catch it before it hits the ground and breaks. Failing to catch the phone, instead you roll your ankle and trip forward, hitting the side of your head on the rocky concrete road.
"Oooow" you groan and since in pain, clutching your hand to your head.
For a moment you lay there flat, trying to gain composure from the fall. As you slowly stand up, you feel warm thick liquid trickle down from your head, making it's way down your cheek and onto your neck. Pulling your hand from your head holding it infront of you, you manage to see red. That was more than enough for you to know that you were bleeding.
In the far distance, you notice two lights approaching.
"Ahh a car" you gasp in pain and excitement.
You pull your hand from your head again and hold it out forward to signal that you needed help. Stumbling forward, the world around you was getting darker and darker. The last thing you see as your vision fades, is the car beginning to pull over.

"Ungh" you groan in pain moving your hand to your head.
Confused, and unsure of where you are, you begin to try to sit up, but struggle, causing you to lay back down and put your hand back on your head.
"Guys, she's awake" you hear someone say.
"Hey are you okay?" You feel a hand on your shoulder. "What's your name?" You hear the same voice again as you feel a soft warm hand grab your hand that was by your waist."Hey miss, can you squeeze my hand?" The voice repeated.
With all of my strength I had, I squeezed the hand that was holding mine, and quite hard too.
"Ow, thankyou" the voice responded.
