2 - Embarrassed and Exposed

*Rivers Pov*

After a short 15 minute drive back home, I pull the car into the driveway. Carefully opening the rear passenger door, I unbuckle Cora and lift her out of the car, carrying her in my arms.  

"You know Ry, she is really beautiful" I say almost regretting it instantly feeling my face burn red when Ryan looks at me.

Ryan laughs quietly.

"Yeah well settle down there fruit boy, I can't have my twin eaten" Ryan says, causing us to both start laughing.

"I'll go lay her down in the guest room" I tell my brother as I walk down our hallway.

"Okay sure thing" Ryan replies, walking into the kitchen.

I walk upstairs with Cora in my arms. I know that I said she was beautiful to Ryan, but I really think she is. The way her soft waist length ginger hair frames her lightly freckled face. Her clear sunkissed skin, her soft looking lips... I shake my head *Jesus Riv, get a hold of yourself* you thought.

I lay Cora down gently onto the spare bed causing her to stir a little before settling into the pillows. Just as I was about to pull the covers over her, I realised she didn't have a fresh set of clothes to wear. Leaving the room, I quickly headed to my room and went through my draws. I could get her merch I thought, but my clothes are better. I picked out a black pair of sweatpants and a khaki adidas sweatshirt. Before returning to Cora, I walked into the office and grabbed a piece of paper and a pen.

For you Cora 🖤 I wrote.

I quietly made my way back to the room and quietly placed them on the end of the bed. With the note on top, smiling at the heart on the note.

Is it weird to want to know everything about a girl you have only just known for a few hours? You thought to yourself.

"Talk soon Cora" you whispered and left the room making your way towards the kitchen to find Ryan.

*Ryan's Pov*

Just As I was wondering why it was taking River so long, I seen him walk into the kitchen.

"Um that took way too long" I said confused.

"Hah, yeah I realised she was still in her torn and dirty clothes from the fall, so I got her some clean ones from mine" River replied

"Wait, you didn't change her did you!" I said concerned

"W-What... no, god no.. I just left them on the end of the bed with a note" Riv said with his face turning a light shade of red.

"Riv, why is your face, wait are you blushing" I said with a smirk slowly turning into a smile.

"No it's just hot today" he sheepishly said, making his way over to get a bottle of water.

"Yeah yeah" I replied laughing. "Also Riv, Wyatt called and said he is going to be spending the night with Hailey" I said air quoting the 'spend a night'.

"Lover boy" Riv said in a mocking tone laughing.

"Careful what you say" I replied mocking Riv

"Hey all I said is that she is beautiful which is facts" Riv said defending himself.

"Hey I might not have been talking about Cora" I smirk "she is on your mind bad dude" I laugh

"Dude she is not" River said looking a little annoyed

"Alright, alright" I say with my hands up in the air.

"Come on dude, we have a heap of evp's to break down from our last investigation" I said walking to the office
