The rain began to drizzle softly against the windows as you and Nanami settled into the cozy atmosphere of your apartment. The scent of freshly brewed coffee lingered in the air, mixing with the soft sounds of the rain and the warm, comforting presence of Nanami.

He moved with purpose in your small kitchen, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, revealing his strong forearms as he expertly whisked eggs in a glass. You leaned against the counter, wrapped in your robe, watching him work. It was a rare sight—someone else using your kitchen—but the way Nanami moved, it was as if he had always belonged there. You couldn't help but admire him, clearly skilled in more than just his supposed job as a train attendant. It made you wonder again about his past—how someone so gentle could also seem so... guarded.

"Are you sure you don't need any help?" you asked, your voice gentle, though you were content just watching him.

Nanami glanced up, his eyes meeting yours with a softness that made your heart flutter. "I've got it under control," he replied with a small smile. "You just relax."

You smiled back, feeling a warmth spread through your chest. You moved to the living room, which was just steps away, and settled onto the couch by the window. The rain outside had picked up, creating a soothing rhythm as it tapped against the glass. You pulled a blanket over your lap, letting yourself get lost in the tranquil atmosphere.

It wasn't long before the inviting aroma of something delicious filled the apartment. Nanami appeared with two plates, the food arranged beautifully. He set them down on the small table in front of the couch and took a seat next to you.

"Voilà," he said, with a rare touch of playfulness in his voice.

Nanami sat next to you, his eyes reflecting satisfaction at your reaction. "I hope you enjoy," he said, uncovering the plates.

You grinned widely at the sight of the fluffy pancakes Nanami had made. You'd mentioned to him once that you enjoyed soufflé pancakes, and he delivered.

"You remembered!" you exclaimed, eyes wide with delight.

"Of course," Nanami replied, smiling softly. "I wanted to make something special for you."

You reached out and took his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

The pancakes were perfect—so soft and fluffy, almost like eating a cloud. You didn't want to admit it, but Nanami might have been a better chef than you. You noticed that he only ate an egg sandwich, likely due to his intolerance for sweets. What a shame; he will never know the pleasure of your favorite sweet treat.

It was clear that Nanami had put a lot of care into it, just like everything else he did. Your heart swelled with appreciation.

"It's perfect," you said sincerely, taking a bite. The flavors were rich and comforting, just like the man sitting beside you.

The two of you ate in comfortable silence, the sound of the rain providing a gentle backdrop. Every now and then, your eyes would meet, and a soft warmth would pass between you, deepening the connection that had been growing between you over the past week.

When the meal was finished, Nanami started to clear the table, but you stopped him. "I'll get it later," you said. "Why don't we pick out a movie?"

He nodded, smiling softly as he relaxed back into the couch. You stood up and went over to your small collection of DVDs, picking out a classic romantic comedy that you knew would match the cozy, intimate mood of the day.

When you returned to the couch, Nanami had already made himself comfortable, one arm resting along the back of the couch. You started the movie and snuggled into his side, pulling the blanket up over both of you. His arm naturally draped around your shoulders, pulling you closer.

As the movie played, you felt yourself growing more relaxed, the warmth of Nanami's body against yours lulling you into a peaceful state. You could feel the rise and fall of his chest as he breathed, his presence grounding you in the moment.

At some point during the movie, you looked up at him, noticing how serene he looked, his eyes half-closed as he watched the screen. The strong, composed man seemed so at ease, so comfortable in this moment.

You enjoyed the closeness, savoring the rare moment of peace where nothing else mattered but the two of you, wrapped up in each other's warmth.
