A Far Away Place in a Dream

Chapter 4

<Beep><Beep><Beep> I slowly opened my eyes and looked around after getting used to the bright light. No one was around. I slowly sat up and sighed. I put my head in my hands and tried to slow my racing thoughts. Little did I know that because of my increased stress my tail lashed out, slamming against the machine that was playing that awfully familiar beep. I was spiraling and I knew it, 'Get a grip. Snap out of it.' I screamed inside my head. Standing up, I ripped the IV from my arm and looked toward the window. 'Run!' My mind screamed back. I shot forward and broke through the window, my wings pumped and flew me higher. I got up so high that i was above the clouds. The view was unbelievable, I stayed up there basking in the sunlight and fresh air, my mind finally calm. A red feather caught my attention.

"Hey kiddo- OH SHIT!" He exclaimed as my tail lashed out trying to get him away from me.

"Leave me be!" I yelled and swung at him again.

"I'm not trying to take you back to the hospital!" He yelled back "I'm trying to take you to Dabi!" 

"Dabi?" I said and stopped attacking him. "You're a hero, why do you know him?"

"I have connections. He's been asking about you. How do you know them?" He asked coming closer, well as much as he could considering my 2 sets of wings were flapping to keep me up there. 

"Was technically kidnapped by them but ended up being saved actually." I said and smiled softly "I owe them my life."

He nodded and gestured behind me where one of Kurogiri's portals were, I flew in and slightly crashed into the couch.

"Sorry, not used to flying or landing." I got up and looked at everyone. The man followed suit and landed gracefully.     

"Thanks Hawks. Welcome back, kid." Dabi said and walked over to me. I smiled at him an unfamiliar feeling in my chest. Everyone seemed surprised to see me smiling. 

"Sari. Welcome back." Shigaraki's voice echoed out and I turned my attention to him. 

"Thanks guys. Thank you Hawks for getting me here." I said and smiled at him, he covered his face and turned away saying it wasn't a big deal. 

"Hey kid can you explain a little bit of your powers to me?" Shigaraki said scratching his neck. 

My eyes dulled and the smile faded from my lips. "Yea, my quirk is technically called Dragonborn Shadow Dancer. But that's not the only one I have. My Dragonborn portion of my quirk allows me to be completely resistant to fire, increased intelligence, of course my features, and to breathe fire. Shadow Dancer refers to weapons and minions I can pull out of the shadows around me or conjure them myself. I also have an energy quirk that allows me to make barriers and launch ranged attacks in the form of a bow. I've been told that I have a durability quirk and a regeneration quirk but those aren't used very often cause my body arms itself with scales at the last second of an attack." My posture straightened and I became monotone, staring lifelessly at the wall behind everyone. The collections of gasps where heard and Shigaraki was looking at me with interest. 

"Hey kid, lets go get you some clothes on." Dabi said and grabbed my hand pulling me toward his room. I followed behind silently, I tucked my wings in noticing Hawks following us. 

"Did I say something wrong?" I asked hesitantly.

"No." They both said at the same time. It seems they have the same idea as they pulled me into the room. Dabi shut and locked the door.

"Thankfully my room is sound proof. Kiddo listen to me very closely, get out of here. Be nice to the heroes and stay with them. Shigaraki is bad news, I don't want you becoming a toy to him." Dabi said grabbing my shoulders, "It'll be Overhaul all over again."

"Really?" I asked now scared, I backed up and sat down on the floor holding my head in my hands. "He wants to hurt me?"

"Kiddo, listen to us, I'll take you back to my house and call Aizawa. He can bring you to Eri and you can stay at UA. Don't allow yourself to be manipulated by Shigaraki." Hawks knelt down and pulled my head up so I could look at him in the eyes. 

"Ok." I said tears in my eyes. He nodded and Dabi opened the window. 

"Can you fly with me?" He asked. I shook my head, I didn't trust myself flying with my current thoughts. He picked me up, I said bye to Dabi, Dabi ruffled my hair, and then we took off.  Landing at a mansion balcony he set me down on his bed. "Here you go kiddo, look in the closet find something you like and I'll go call Aizawa." 

"Alright." I stood up and walked over to one of the doors and opened it, just in time to hear him open his door.

"Hey! Endeavor! How nice to see you here?!" He said and I quickly hid inside the giant closet not liking his tone he was using. I looked around and found an outfit I liked. The sleeves were a bit long but I didn't mind that. Putting it on the door opened just as I finished and I turned to look at who it was.

"Ah, it is the kid." The male crossed his arms. I turned my attention to Hawks right behind him. 

"Name is Sari. Not kid." I replied back and looked up at him. He narrowed his eyes and seemed to be getting angry but that didn't scare me as it seemed his quirk was solely fire related based on his costume. "What do you want?" I asked the taller male.

"I just came to speak with Hawks but I seem to have hit the jackpot. Erasurehead has been looking for you." I narrowed my eyes at his words.

"Good idea, Endeavor, let's escort him to Aizawa together." Hawks laughed out and ran to my side. I nodded at him saying I would like to see Eri again. 

"Let's go." He said and left, Hawks grabbed my hand and we walked out behind him to start the journey to UA.
