"Two pairs, please." Damian requested at the counter.

The brunette's phone suddenly dinged with a notification, and he busied himself with checking it. And that might be the precise reason why he didn't notice the lady at the counter gaping at him with her mouth open. I could've sworn her jaw was touching the floor.

I would be quite offended if someone stared at my boyfriend like that, but it wasn't hard to get used to the stares once you realize your boyfriend is a worldwide icon. Now, it wasn't until Damian looked back up and raised his eyebrows that the lady snapped out of her daze, pulling out 2 pairs of free-sized skates.

The lady set it on the counter, opening her mouth to tell the prize, but Damian beat her to it, shoving her black card at her face, and she scrambled to cash us in, hands trembling with the fact that she was holding a black card. "What? Damian!" I hissed, shoving him. Damian grinned at me victoriously, and victorious, he was indeed.

He'd managed to pay before I could even pull out my card.

I rolled my eyes at him, and he chuckled under his breath, causing a few gasps around from whoever was eavesdropping into our conversation, which just so happened to be everyone. And hearing Ice Prince Damian Wayne chuckle was not something you would hear.

Before I could sulk for the next, ideally, hour and a half, Damian pulled me toward the edge of the ice rink, having me sit down in a seat before he got on one knee. And although, a skating rink was not the best place to propose, of all things, there were whispers going around, debating on if the bachelor was getting tied down.

Damian rolled his eyes, grabbing my skates and putting them on my legs, glancing up to see if he had tied them tight enough. And I just sat there, smiling and blushing. "Is it alright?" Damian asked, grinning up at me, and I smiled back. "Always." I replied. Damian sat down on the seat next to me, satisfied.

The boy bent down, removing his shoes.

I came up with a funny idea.

I got up from my seat, plopping down on the floor in front of Damian. The brunette looked at me in confusion, but I grinned. "Let me help." I said, and Damian got even more confused. It was only when I picked up his skates did he understand what I meant, and it was too late to stop me.

"What?- Mari, Love!" He exclaimed, trying to pull his legs away, but I pulled it stronger, helping him into his skates and tying it up. Damian buried his face in his hands to hide the very obvious blush on his face. "This is embarrassing." he groaned, once I was done. "Why?" I asked, confused.

"You helped me into mine, and I can't help you back?" I ask, making Damian snap his head up. "I don't mean it like that, Mari-" "Oh, is it because you're a guy and you're meant to do this?" I snap, leaving Damian speechless. The boy sat in silence, not disagreeing to what I said.

"You're enforcing stereotypes, Damian. Men do not exist to take care of their women, just as women do not always need their men." I say softly, but Damian just sighs. "I was just trying to help-" He argues. "And so was I." I reply, making him pause. He mulled over it for a while, before smiling.

"Alright, you win." He says.

If it were possible, I would have smiled even wider, standing up with the help of Damian's hand, who laughed at me when I almost slipped and fell. The two of us stepped into the ice rink, Damian holding onto the side, and me holding onto him. The moment I stepped onto the ice, I fell down, dragging Damian with me.

We both slammed down onto the ground with a huge thud, the safety of Damian's arms shielding me from the cold of the ice. "Ow." he hissed, starting at his red hand. "Sorry." I smiled at him sheepishly, making him smile. "Get up, love." he said, standing up with the help of the wall and reaching a hand out to me.
