Y/N's POV
I was sitting next to Erin and her friends as well as Cole when we spotted Jackie. Cole glances at her. Uh oh this is gonna be bad if Erin notices. I wave at her.
Y/N:Hey Jackie!
She looks over at me and waves before moving up in the cafeteria line. Although Alex is entranced by her doesn't mean we can't be friends. I mean it sucks a little but she seems really sweet. Erin gives me a strange look as I just waved at the girl who gawked at I guess her boyfriend. I put my head down and eat my lunch.
Erin:Should we invite her to sit down?
She gives Cole a sweet smile. I look up and smile since I could use a friend besides my sister here.
Cole:Oh yeah I'll go grab her
Cole and Alex both walk over to Jackie. I longingly glance at Alex.
Erin:Aww does my sister have a crush?
I avert my gaze and look back down to my lunch to hide my growing blush.
Erin:Aww how cute!
I hear the conversation of Cole and Jackie from afar. This lunch time has already been awkward enough for me! I just need someone else for Erin to focus on.
Cole:Hey what ya doing?
Jackie:Getting lunch
Cole:Let me help!
Jackie:But....
She looks back at us. Cole escorts her to the very front of the line. The aline looks quite long. Wow this place is crowded.
Cole:Mind if we slide on in?
The two pass Alex in the cafeteria line. Poor guy just trying to follow the rules as Cole always breaks them.
Alex:Where are you going?
Cole:See you later
He turns to Jackie.
Cole:These are always good!
Girl:I don't know what is happening right now!
Cole:Hold this!
Erin watches him pay for Jackie's lunch. Oh no this is not going to go well! Erin's jealousy issues are worse than mine. I don't like how he can make her feel so insecure! I try my best to support them but I have watched her cry over him so many times!
Erin:Y/N I'm not happy
Y/N:I'm sorry Erbear! He isn't worth the pain if I'm being honest
Erin:I having de ja vu. It's not that easy to get over him!
Y/N:Maybe you won't have to? Maybe they're just friends?
Jackie: I have money!
Cole:Lunch can be rough on your first day!
Cole walks over to our table.
Cole:Alright everyone this is New York! New York this is everyone!e
Jackie:It's Jackie actually!
Erin must be fuming right now he even gave her a little nickname. I wish I could comfort her but it's easy for people to fall for the Cole Effect. I hope they are just friends who give each other nicknames for Erin's sake.
Erin:Hi
Erin shoots me and one of her friends a look of concern.
Cole:Guys move
Erin:It's pretty cramped already
Cole:Well you can have my seat
Jackie sits on down next Erin. Erin has a pout on her face. Sorry girl I can't fix this I need to make other friends that aren't yours already. Our fiend Olivia smiles at Jackie. Erin annoyed turns away from us.
Y/N:First day and they already have better food than my last school!
Jackie:What did you get?
Y/N:Mac and Cheese and a dinner bun! How's your first day going?
Jackie:Not too bad thanks for
Olivia:You should text Ruby about this weekend!
Y/N:Yeah that's a good idea!
Olivia:Come on
Look over to another table to see Alex sitting with some girl. God damn it how many options does he have? Y/N they could just be friends don't let your jealousy get the best of you. Then I hear their conversation not because I wanted to ease drop but because I have been staring into space for so long.
Girl:Did you see that? That my friend is how it's done! Alex?
She waves her hand in front of his face.
Alex:Sorry I guess I'm not really in the mood to
Girl:Who are you and what have you done with Alex Walter?
Alex:Uh....
Girl:Seriously Alex what?
Alex:You know how I told you that girl moved in
Girl:Yeah
Alex:Well Cole
Girl:What's he done now?

He smiles. Oh fuck he likes her! He likes Jackie! I was pretty sure of it but now that it's pretty much confirmed I'm gonna go crazy!
