Chapter 11

You woke up in the morning, as usual, had your breakfast, and were about to leave for the lab.

"Y/N, you go ahead. I'll be there in a few minutes," Namjoon said.

"Okay, but don't take too much time" you agreed and left for the lab.

You went to the lab, picked up your pen and paper, and immersed yourself in your research. Once you started working, you often lost track of everything else, your research was your first love. After about an hour or so, you heard Namjoon's footsteps, you looked in the direction and saw Namjoon entering the Lab.

"You said you'd come in a few minutes. Look, it's been more than an hour!" you said, teasing him.

"Sorry, Y/N, I got caught up in something at home," Namjoon replied casually.

"And what could you possibly have to do?" you asked suspiciously.

"Um... actually, it was..." you saw Namjoon struggling to come up with an excuse, so you changed the topic.

"Never mind. Let's get back to work" you said. The two of you continued working on the time machine. After a few hours, Jin arrived with your lunch as usual. You had lunch with him and resumed your work. After a couple more hours, Namjoon grew tired.

"Y/N, I'm exhausted! Can we take a break today?" Namjoon asked.

"But why? Are you okay? Is your health..." you began, concerned.

"I'm fine, just not in the mood to work today," Namjoon interrupted.

"Okay, you go ahead. I'll finish up this part and join you in a bit," you said, and he left the lab. After about half an hour, you finished your task and left the lab as well.

As you stepped outside, you noticed a beautifully decorated pathway covered with flower petals leading to the front garden. You followed it and saw each tree and plant and scene of the garden decorated with colorful lights and balloons, as you examined the place, you saw a huge banner with words "HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y/N."

"Wow, I completely forgot it's my birthday!" you said to yourself. There was a beautifully decorated dining table, most probably for candle light dinner. There was a note on the dinner table that read, 'Go to your room and get ready soon.'

You went inside and found a gorgeous evening gown laid out on your bed. You freshened up, put on the dress, and did a light touch-up(since you didn't liked make up much). While getting ready, you noticed a small note on your dressing table: "Hey beautiful, go to our common study place – Lisa."

You remembered the small library room where you and Lisa used to study together after your classes. You went there, and a large balloon burst over you, showering you with shimmer. A beautiful necklace fell into your hands with a note: 'Next gift is near the first book you read on time travel.'

You immediately thought of "Mysteries of Time" by Professor Kim Namjoon, the book that had inspired your research, the book still had special place in your heart and your Library. You went to the shelf, found a small box on the book, and opened it to find beautiful earrings and another note: 'You look gorgeous. Now go to the hall.'

You followed the instructions, and as you entered the hall, it filled with smoke. You heard a group of people singing "Happy Birthday," and when the smoke cleared, you saw everyone standing there with smiles and gifts.

"Thank you so much, everyone! This is the best birthday ever," you said, overwhelmed with joy. They showered you with gifts, and then you saw Seokjin coming out of the kitchen with a large chocolate cake. Just as you were about to cut it, the doorbell rang.
