Third pov

All ninjas were already asleep only one remains awake and that is Kai. It kinda became a routine that Kai followed and every night was the same and this night was no different. He was standing in front of a door holding he's pillow tightly. He was unsure if he should knock and ask to sleep there. But whose door was it? Well it's the door of non other than Cole Brookstone. Kai didn't know why exactly he wanted to be near him he simply wanted to, but even if he wanted to he would still end up walking to he's room like he was doing now.

Kai pov

I was back in my room and I threw myself on my bed, still hugging my pillow. I don't know why I wanted to sleep next to him it had always been like that... ever since that mission that is.

Flashback

Third pov

Kai was awoken by the rain that was hammering on their tent. He was on a mission with Cole and tomorrow they could go back since they were finished. But just as Kai was about to fall asleep again he felt a pair of strong arms wrap around him and holding him close. Normally Kai would have woken Cole up... but he didn't instead he melted in the embrace. He didn't even knew why he felt like that but... he felt safe and comfortable... it was a nice feeling... but he was scared of he's feelings so he started avoiding Cole when they got back.

End of flashback

He looked at the wall with a burning face cursing Cole in he's mind for doing this to him.

A few days later

Third pov

Kai was exhausted he hadn't slept in days, so tonight he fell asleep as soon as he's face hit the pillow.

No one's pov

Kai was running with he's hands over he's ears. He was running from he's friends.
Jay:„Why don't you try harder next time? You are so pathetic and weak!" He laughed as Kai fell over.
Nya:„Jay is right. I can't wait to turn eighteen and leave you behind! I can't believe you are my brother! She laughed with Jay Zane and Lloyd laughed to and pointed at Kai and all the flaws he had.
Cole:„How could you think I would love someone like you? I would never love a freak a Monsters!" He laughed along with the others.

Third pov

Kai woke up tears streaming down he's face as he tried to calm down but he couldn't. He's breathing got faster. He tried to get up but fell because he was shaking but he got up again and walked to Coles room the tears had stopped automatically. When he was in front of Cole's room he knocked so lightly that he thought Cole wouldn't hear. But a few moments later Cole opened the door.
Cole:„Kai? What are you do-..."
He went silent as he saw Kai. He was shaking and had try tears on he's face. And than he just started to cry. He was trying to wipe them away but it was no use.
Kai:„Sorry *hic* I will go back to *snif* my room."
But Cole grabbed he's wrist which made Kai stop dead in he's tracks.
Cole:„I don't think you should be one your own in this state... What is wrong Kai?"
Kai:„Can I sleep here for the night?" He's words were barely a whisper but Cole heard him.
Cole:„Of course you can Kai." Cole let him in and got immediately hugged by Kai who hid he's face in Cole's chest still crying. Cole let out sigh and picked Kai up stroking he's hair which to he's suprise calmed Kai down immensely and soon after Kai fell asleep. Cole went to bed holding Kai.

The next day

Third pov

Cole woke up to giggles that came from he's friends. He sat up not letting go of Kai and being very careful not to wake him up. And than he gave the others a death glare.
Cole:„Wake him up I dare you!" Although he was whispering he sounded so threatening that the others left the room immediately and closing the door so carefully as if the door would explode. Coles gaze immediately softened when he looked at Kai who was still asleep. Kai looked so peaceful he was completely relaxed with a soft expression on he's face. Cole couldn't resist anymore and kissed Kai's forehead.
