Grabbing onto my aching foot, a large body was suddenly pushed onto me and we both fell to the ground. The sounds of a pair of feet making a dash for it echoed throughout the hall.
A loud groaned left me as Blake got off of me. Sitting up, I stared at the direction where our little mate just ran off to. "She's a feisty one." I growled with a wide smile.
Jumping up to my feet and taking a step to go chase after her, I felt a hand grabbed my wrist and stop me. My head snapped back at Blake, my smile turning into a frown. "Why are you stopping me? She's getting away!"
Giving me just one look as she sat on the ground, I instantly calmed down. Letting go of my wrist, I didn't dare move as Blake got up on her feet, dusting herself off.
"Let our little rabbit get away and think she escaped us." A small smirk grew on her face. "It'll be much more fun when the prey is caught off guard." Hearing that, my frown turned upside up.
"I like that sound of that." Feeling a wave of pain coming from the foot our little mate stomped on, I gritted my teeth and hopped on one foot while grabbing the other.
Blake looked at me slightly worried. "It's like her boots are made out of fucking steel or something. That shit really hurt!"
Rubbing my foot, the pain slowly went away and I put my foot back down. Thank the goddess for werewolves to have super healing. "One stomp and you can't walk?"
I growled, staring daggers at Blake. "I know you ain't talking. She pushed you right into me and the both of us fell, letting her get away."
She gave me a sly smile, and my eyes widened. "You let her get away, didn't you?" Blake just shrugged, a bit of her hair getting loose from her ponytail.
"No clue what you're talking about." I pouted, giving her a little shove. "You should have at least told me what you were planning."
Hearing someone down the hall, the both of us paused before I scowled. I don't feel like dealing with that fat sack of potatoes right now and by the looks of it, neither does Blake
I stepped closer to her. "Let's just skip for the rest of the day. Not like we're gonna get into any trouble." She nodded her head and the two of us walked in the other direction of Mr. Big Belly to one of the side exits.
Opening the door for me, I slipped out and turned back to see Blake follow. Going over to the forest, we went in deep so no one could see us and stripped down. Folding our clothes and placing them on a log.
Shifting into your wolf form is a giant pain and expensive if you're not careful, you shred your clothes to uselessness if they're on.
When Blake and I were younger, the two of us wasted thousands of dollars because we kept on shifting when clothed. It annoyed the hell out of the maids and Mr. King.
Grabbing our clothes with our mouths, we set off back to the mansion. Hopefully nobody bugs us or I might give Mr. King a reason to send us away again. He's so annoying to deal with, his voice gives me a headache.
Running through the forest, darting past trees, Blake was just a few inches ahead of me. Suddenly feeling a grin appeared, I pushed my four legs to go faster until I was ahead of her.
Looking back, Blake didn't seem to care at first but suddenly flew past me. I stared at her shock, still running before my grin grew.
Oh, it's on!
